Junior's method of voice training is absolutely magical, on a musical, spiritual, and emotional level. Each week, as I continue singing and doing the basic exercises, I find that my ability to connect with my emotions, speak my truth, and confidently own my experience increases. It seems too good to be true that such a simple method could produce such deep results, but it is true, and I hope more people get to experience the peace, connection, and satisfaction that comes with learning how to sing in this way!

I started voice lessons completely afraid and thinking my voice sounded like a rake on a chalkboard. Uncle Junior has helped me to relax and have fun and find my voice. I had the pleasure of working with Junior Kukuewa Jr for the better part of two years while I was stationed in Hawaii. I’d come to him particularly insecure about singing, I wasn’t terrible, but lacked breath support, knowledge of voice resonance, and above all CONFIDENCE. Junior, is not just a vocal coach he’s honestly a life coach. The man will never allow you to doubt your own ability, he’ll only encourage you to push and grow. A philosophy I learned from him, never be afraid to color outside the lines. If a note fell flat or a slight mistake was made, we’d shake it off and started again. I’m the most confident and proud of my voice than I’ve ever been and I truly don’t think that would’ve happened without him, and I could not recommend him more to anyone. My 11-yr-daughter needed to improve her voice in a very short amount of time to oli/chant strong for her hula competition. (She’s a kind of girl who always talks so soft almost like mumbling.) We had only two weeks or so left before the comp, Junior instructed her to focus on practicing just this one exercise as much as possible, so she did. Towards the very end of her journey to the comp, she was practicing her oli and said “ wow I can’t believe this is my voice. It doesn’t sound like mine at all! “ She gained so much confidence, she had a lot of fun on the stage! When I started, I was an Army officer with no musical talent. I was disciplined and motivated, but I was very skeptical that I could ever learn how to sing. But I swear, if you listen to what he has to say, follow directions, and do your best, he will take you exactly where you want to go with your voice. Ive been taking lessons with Uncle Junior since November of 2022. Within the months Ive noticed an extension of my range with his exercises, a strength in my support and a clarity to my falsetto as well as so much more. He is excellent at building not only technique and strength, but confidence in your own skills.
