Jay Stull is amazing at teaching LSAT. He was clear, straightforward and right to the point. Gave the entire team so many options and methods into learning and getting to the answer. I cannot, repeat *cannot* recommend Jay enough to anyone who's thinking of taking the LSAT. Whether now, soon or in the future, his approach will stick with you! So worth the time and the sessions.

Patrick Connolly is a an extremely able and humble tutor (in fact, the word tutor does not do him justice- he is an exceptional intellectual and instructor).

Patrick’s gentle personality and tailored approach helped me build on less than perfect GMAT tutoring experiences I had with Veritas Prep and Kaplan. I was able to achieve a 99th percentile GMAT score (100 point upside) with Patrick’s help.

Patrick is different from any other tutor because he can explain any problem 4+ different ways. Moreover, his familiarity with the content, and frameworks for dealing with complex problems served as an anchor during our sessions. Once you unlock the higher end problems it is very important to breathe and approach these tough questions with a calm demeanor. Patrick’s personality and method of instruction were especially ripe for this, and they allowed me to dynamically solve new (and extremely complex) GMAT problems.

Patrick and the folks at AT are exceptionally smart. I would not be where I am today without them. I strongly recommend Patrick for any SAT or GMAT tutoring service, as well as any college or professional counseling.

The experience of SAT tutoring with Advantage Testing of Westchester was phenomenal. Our child looked forward to each session. I greatly enjoyed my experience at Advantage Testing. My tutor was Kelly Schwarz, and she helped me prepare for the ACT and two SAT subject tests. She was patient, thorough, knowledgeable, caring, and dedicated to seeing me reach my goals. She answered all of my questions and encouraged me to keep going when things got difficult. Overall, Kelly was exceptional and cares about her students.
In regards to the preparation, I felt the materials and work Advantage Testing did to help me was excellent. I was given plenty of previous exam questions, times to practice the exams, and helpful guides.

Kelly Schwarz has been great for my son. She is very patient, clear and follows through with all she says. My son, Jack, feels very comfortable working with her and he has been improving in his test scores since he has been meeting with her. The improvement was immediate. She gives very detailed reviews from their meetings and very clear cut instructions for his homework.

Kelly is an awesome tutor! I came to her mostly for help on the SAT Reading/ Writing and Language Sections and some help on the Math section. I was able to achieve my desired goal in the Math section and come pretty close in Reading. All of the extra practice tests I got from her were very helpful and the strategies she taught me (especially in math) were really effective. Kelly was also able to provide me with resources for SAT Subject Tests (Math 2 and Biology M).

Kelly has been a wonderful guide for our child. He helped with ISEE prepping for middle school entry and now continues to guide our child weekly. Kelly is always able to explain things differently to him our child "get it."

Advantage Good for ACT Math

Kelly Schwarz from Advantage Testing brought my math score on the ACT from a 24 to 32. She taught me all the tricks to the test and was super helpful. I highly recommend if math is your weakest section to check out Advantage and Kelly in particular.

B. Kelly McDowell had an incredibly positive impact on our 3 teenage boys.
For the 2020-21 school year, my husband and I made the unconventional decision to homeschool our boys. By no means was this an easy experience. Fortunately,
Kelly was up to the challenge of taking on our 8th grader and 7th grade twins. Despite the fact that the boys were strong students, there was so much to improve upon.

Keen at assessing strengths and weaknesses, Kelly developed a custom curriculum for each boy. Kelly also has a knack for knowing exactly how hard to push each student.
For example, one of my sons has an aptitude for math and Kelly was able to move him a full grade level ahead. One of my other sons struggled with expressing his thoughts on paper. Now he is a strong writer and actually enjoys the writing process. My third son is a bit less detailed by nature and Kelly patiently taught him to be more attentive.

The confidence of all 3 boys has improved exponentially. Thanks to the mind-stretching activities that Kelly incorporated in daily work, the boys learned to critically think, problem solve and communicate effectively. Their organizational skills and self-regulation are notably improved. Each Sunday evening, Kelly sent the boys all of their weekly assignments. In turn, the boys were responsible for creating a daily schedule to complete assignments by week’s end. This took time to master, but now they have a good sense of how to break down a large work load. This will serve them well in future.

Homeschooling is not for the faint of heart. However, with a teacher like B.Kelly McDowell, it can be an experience beyond what traditional schooling provides.
Being the social creatures they are, our boys will return to the private school setting next school year. We look forward to seeing how this extraordinary
year of learning has prepared them!

I worked with Kelly McDowell over the course of 6+ years and had a fantastic experience. My time with Advantage began in middle school, when Kelly helped me prepare for the ISEE, OLSAT, and SSAT exams. In high school, I worked with Kelly on several academic subjects (Spanish, Math, History to name a few), AP tests, SAT Subject Tests, and the SAT, ACT, and PSAT exams. When in middle and high school, I oftentimes found it difficult to stay motivated while preparing for and taking standardized tests. Kelly was a staunch supporter of mine, always reminding me of my abilities and instilling confidence in me. With Kelly's assistance, I achieved higher than my target score on every standardized test that I took.

For all of the above exams and subjects, Kelly had extensive knowledge of content, question styles, and prep methods, and knew tips and tricks that saved time during the test and helped me succeed. Additionally, Kelly helped me leverage Advantage's full suite of resources including practice exams, question banks, and expertise from other tutors when necessary.

Kelly continued to check in on me after I graduated from high school and was always available for advice or questions I had related to my academic experience. As I entered my senior year of college, I began working with Kelly to prepare for the GMAT exam. I was balancing a packed academic schedule and several extracurriculars, but Kelly was always accommodating with scheduling and flexible with timings. In addition to coaching me on all sections of the exam (with an emphasis on math), Kelly gave me GMAT-specific tips and tricks that I am confident boosted my score on exam day. I was admitted to two top-ranked MBA programs, and I know those acceptances would not have happened had I not prepared for the exam with Kelly.

My experience with Kelly is certainly not unique. Many of my friends (and family members!) have worked with Kelly, and have had nothing but wonderful things to say. I would recommend Kelly to anyone, and am beyond happy to have worked with him.

All four of our children have worked with Kelly McDowell. Kelly helped each of them prepare for the ISEE (three of them for middle school admissions and two for high school admissions). With Kelly's assistance, each was able to achieve an average score of 8 on each section of the ISEE. Three of our children then returned to work with Kelly for SAT and/or ACT prep. (The fourth will be working with Kelly next year when he prepares for the SAT or ACT.) With Kelly's assistance, our daughter achieved a near perfect score on the SAT while our sons each achieved a perfect score on the ACT. Kelly's help was invaluable.

We began using Advantage Testing in 2008 when our kids were starting high school. With the expertise of the tutors at Advantage, our children became confident, high-performing test takers and surprised even themselves. The tutors are respectful, thorough, punctual and knowledgeable. Our experience in the high school years with Advantage was so successful that some of my kids have continued using them at the graduate school level as well.

We have proven confidence from over 13 years of tutoring with Advantage Testing over a variety of testing platforms and highly recommend them to anyone who is looking to get the most out of their academics. Advantage is the gold standard for test prep, both academically and mentally. What a gift!

Advantage Testing not only helped me understand test material (ACT) but also the anatomy of the test itself. Shortcuts, skills, elimination techniques, and practice all helped build my confidence while taking the test. My tutor, Kelly Schwarz, was awesome. She was the only tutor I had the opportunity to learn from, but she knew what she was doing. Our three daughters had the best experience with Jay Resh and the team at Advantage testing. They mainly worked with Jay, who always drove them to do their best and really understand the test. He trained them in such a way that they were confident and very well equipped to take the ACT test and all the subject matter tests which they took with different teachers. They loved working with Jay as he made learning a passionate tool for them, especially after long hours of IB classes, they were motivated to work harder and get better results. As a family, we all truly appreciate Jay as an educator that influenced our daughters positively. We highly recommend Advantage Testing.

Kelly Schwartz is an outstanding tutor. My daughter spent almost six months preparing for the SAT with Kelly, once per week, as their scheduled allowed.
