Absolute scammers
Items were returned, company point blank refused to issue a refund. 10 weeks of wrangling with PayPal eventually brought about a 'positive' outcome, but Debenhams' behaviour throughout the experience was reprehensible. Their 'customer service' practices are literally criminal.

Disappointing Experience with Delivery & Returns Process
I ordered a Polar Express train set from Debenhams with the expectation of having it in time for Christmas, but unfortunately, my experience has been frustrating from start to finish. The tracking info showed that the item was in transit this went on for two weeks , before I emailed customer services. After nearly 2 weeks of waiting and no updates, they finally replied to say I needed to wait another 2 weeks as delivery can take up to 28 days. Again I waited and still no train set so I emailed again and was told the parcel had been delivered and to check with house members and neighbours. I eventually discovered the package had been delivered to a neighbor who was away at the time, so I couldn’t collect it until the 28th of January.
By the time I received the product, it was too late for my intended Christmas gift, and I wanted to return it. However, when I contacted Debenhams again, they refused to accept the return as it was past the 28-day returns period. The fact I was trying from the 6th December , and it took Debenhams 7 days or more to reply to each of my emails, makes the whole process even more frustrating.
Overall, I’m very disappointed by the poor customer service, delayed responses, and inflexible return policy. I won’t be shopping with Debenhams again after this experience and advise everyone to stay clear.
Dreadful customer service
Do not use this company. It is no longer than wonderful British institution of the high Street.
Ordered a Christmas present for my wife. It was due for delivery about 14th December but didn't arrive due to an Evri failure to deliver (suprise!).
I have had to fight and fight to try and get a refund. An endless stream of Bot responses. When I finally got an email address for customer services they failed to respond. The only way I got my refund was by threatening to take legal act and seek damages.
Please do not order from this company or Wallis.
Absolutely awful customer service
Absolutely awful customer service. I ordered some perfume which was not delivered. I contacted debenhams via fb messenger, to which I received the response that an agent will be assigned but it may take longer than usual (understandable due to the busy Christmas period). A month later I had still not received a response, I followed this up with debenhams to find out what was going on, there response was that they can't do anything as it's been more than 14 days. It was debenhams fault that it had been more than 14 days, yet they still refuse to do anything about it.
DON’T BUY FROM DEBENHAMS
07/12/2025 I ordered £206.33 items from different brands. All of them were not a size 10, they were more like size 8. I only kept a Roman skirt for £20. DO NOT BUY OFF DEBENHAMS! When you return items you are charged to return them and not to Debenhams, but each different brand! Craghoppers, Klass, Pretty Little Thing, Bohoo and Gini London. After waiting ages I chased up my refund to be told it’s too late. Then told actually we can refund you £25.50 but you need proof of postage for Gini London £25.00. It’s been 2 months. I don’t know where the receipt is. Terrible customer service.

I ordered a few dresses, kept one and sent the rest back (within the return time frame and all unworn etc)
They initially sent me a store voucher with about £23 credit in it... not the full amount, and i also selected refund, not store voucher. Have messaged on their crappy AI portal, emailed customer services. Initially I had replies acting as if they cared, after emailing that I never received my refund they just stopped replying.
I see I am not the only person this has happened to and I can't believe this company of absolute crooks is allowed to run like this!

Don't allow orders to be cancelled then charge you to return.
Their customer service obviously didn't care about my complaint - it took four emails to get a response. The rep didn't know I'd returned my order despite having the order number provided, only addressed one of the three points I'd made and got my name wrong.

Why as it was full of wrinkles.

Terrible chaos!
I ordered 7 items which arrived over the course of 4 weeks and one not at all. The customer service is shocking and extremely frustrating. 6 weeks on from my order I am still waiting for a refund with the last message that "this has been escalated" seemly having done nothing. I had no idea when I ordered that when I returned an item they would all be to different suppliers, most incurring separate fees and all different processes. Utter chaos and I personally will never order from there again

Ordered some items from Debenhams online & one of the most expensive items hasn’t came & it is down as failed delivery. Debenhams have taken the money but even though they acknowledge the delivery failed, they’re saying I’ve not gwen charged for the item when I can see that I have been charged for all items. They’re now ignoring me and refusing to acknowledge my formal complaint. AVOID as their customer service team are appalling

I had no problems with the order but it was a low risk item (towels). What I ordered did come from three separate suppliers in three separate packages. But everything arrived and the quality is fine.
