Terrible experience. I cancelled my insurance the following day after noticing that it wasn’t due to start for another month when I needed it to start this week. To say the person on the phone was unhelpful is putting it kindly. I was told I’d be charged £25 even though it was within the 14 day cooling off period and I’d not actually had any cover which is ludicrous - I’ve never been charged an admin fee to cancel a policy I’ve not yet benefited from. Daylight robbery. Anyway, I was told I’d get a full refund, minus the £25, straight away and I have still received nothing back! I’d never take out insurance with these people ever again, really disappointed.

Signed up with DialDirect for car insurance at the last minute through CTM, prior to my car insurance ending. Once I paid, I reviewed my documents as advised noting that some of the details were missing. When I called them up next day, asking to update the information, I was asked to contact my previous insurer to retrieve claim history records, despite not having made any claims in 20 years of having a license. As I did not want the hassle of waiting for documents (which are not required when getting quotes), I asked about the option to cancel, which was agreed, but with a penalty (arrangement fee) of £25, regardless of the policy being bought just hours ago. I have asked for a gesture of goodwill but this was refused. Strict penny pinching policies and needless dificulties mean I will not be using them again.

Automatically renewed my policy after the 12 months, not only have they refused a refund & to cancel the policy but they're actually trying to extort further admin fees with the threat of adverse credit rating. Call centre is in South Africa so they can say whatever they like after taking your money

Had car insurance with Dial direct and tried to change my car online but system would not allow the change. Tried calling them at 17.30 and didn't answer my call despite several attempts even though their supposed to be open until 18.00. Had to take out new insurance to allow me to drive my new car home at a cost of £60. Called Dial direct Monday morning to be told underwriters would not insure my new car and renewal quote with different underwriters would be over £500 double my previous premium. Ended up cancelling at a cost of another £60. So I m now £120 out of pocket. I have taken out a new policy with a reputable company at over £200 cheaper

There was no acknowledgment of emails sent in reply to their emails/queries to me so I do not know if they have received the information or even if it satisfies their requirements.

You allowed me to pay for a policy then a week later said you was cancelling due to the fact I never said I had a claim but I listed on money supermarket so perhaps you need to blame them as I was honest when I asked for a quote

Well this is my insurance provider, and I’ve called them about an issue about an apparent claim I had made previously which nothing come of it with my previous insurer, and I have a letter from my previous insurer ensuring I haven’t gone through with a claim. So I called up at least 3 times with 3 different people no one listened to me, kept repeating themselves and became very rude. And my premium got put up for no reason. I would avoid at all costs.
