I purchased a 80v refurbished battery…
I purchased a 80v refurbished battery on sep 14 2025 for $120..by Jan 30 2026, the battery would no longer charge. I obviously called customer service...I was told it has 90 day warranty...I told her I was 30 days over, can something be done...I would have been satisfied with a discount on a new battery...
Her reply...is there something else I can help you with....
She didn't even acknowledge what I had mentioned...
To all considering Greenworks product...be warned...
Mediocre customer service
I've had decent success with their products but their customer service is dismal at best. Fedex is the shipping carrier they use and their delivery service is rife with problems. Greenworks customer service is worthless as far as helping with lost packages. "It's out of our hands" is their customary answer.
I really wish I read these reviews…
I really wish I read these reviews before trying out this company. I was looking for a smaller mower with mulch bag. I found one online and then chatted customer service to see which bag would fit. They told me and then I ordered. When I received the bag was incorrect as this mower could not even have a mulch bag. I talked to customer service and explained everything and even though a Greenworks employee is who told me to order this setup - they would not waive the $45 return fee. I had plans to immediately order another Greenworks mower but due to the terrible customer service I just returned and bought a Ryobi.
A couple of terrible experiences with…
A couple of terrible experiences with their customer service. First, they charged and sent me items I did not order. When I called to return they have a terrible return policy where customers are responsible to pay high costs of return shipping when it was their mistake. Customer service was rude and blames the customer.
Second experience was when their lawn mover broke down. It just refused to start although I purchased and switched out multiple batteries. I called customer service, got hung up on multiple times. The interaction with each agent was inconsistent in requesting tons of information about me and the product ( I called in for my dad who doesn't speak much English). They wanted all the serial numbers of the lawn mower, the various batteries, then they want to troubleshoot everything with you (to make matters worse) before they will even move forward with a solution (if they actually do). They may even make you drop off the item for repair but they won't help you unless you go through all their numerous steps in order for the product to meet their warranty requirements. Why not just trust your customer, offer to send the product back, and check it for the product defect issue? A huge waste of time and trust. Buy from a different company if you can! This company does not take care of their loyal customers.

Ordered a replacement part (a near $60 belt) for my snowblower and 3 weeks later I still haven’t received it…thankfully we haven’t gotten as much snow as we normally would so far
Greenworks sucks
I thought I did my do diligence in checking reviews of the company Greenworks.
They did not allow for an extended period of time ( past the 30days) during Christmas even though an email conversation had started on Dec 29th to inquire about a return. They just told me today that a return label would not be issued. I got the impression that they would find any excuse NOT to accept a return/refund.
"Refurbished" Charger
I purchase a "refurbished" 80v blower, battery, and charger 14 months ago. The battery is intentionally undersized for my intended use of blowing leaves, but I should have done more research before buying. I used the charger maybe a dozen times before it popped loudly and stopped working. The "warranty" on Greenworks tools is 4 years for new but only 90 days for refurbished. This tells me the intent of their "refurbishing."
Amazing customer service for battery warranty replacement
The 5ah 82V battery that came with my chainsaw gave an error signature on the charger. A quick phonecall to customer service (albeit with an unexpected bounce from their prosumer branch (where i purchased the saw) to their commercial division (which manages the 82v line)) led to an email with instructions to photo/video the serial#, and the battery on the charger showing its status. A day after i submitted that info, an email confirmation with tracking of the replacement battery arrived, and the battery itself arrived a few days after. Customer service was friendly and efficient.
Buyer Beware
Read this before buying anything from these folks.
After buying a 60 volt leaf blower and lawn mover and being satisfied with their performance, i decided to treat myself to a snow blower during their recent sale. Unfortunately, the only machines available were 40 volt models, but I made the purchase anyway.
The snowblower was delivered on Dec. 2. We had some snow a few weeks later and I was excited to give my new toy a run. Well, the snow was heavy and wet, but only about three inches or so. The snow blower was no match for Mother Nature's deposit. The machine couldn't even spit the snow out of its chute.
Fool I, I was prepared to accept that the 40 volt machine just wasn't powerful enough and was prepared to swap it for a stronger, more expensive unit.
When I called Greenworks, it turned out that they were still out of stock of the 60 and 80 volt models and had no idea when new units would arrive.
At that point I asked about my options. After being on hold for several minutes I was told I had none. The warranty on these machines I was told is 30 days and it was now Dec. 30. I hung up unhappy before I realized that it wasn't 30 days between delivery and complaint.
I called back and talked to a different clerk. Ah, yes, I was within the 30 days, but I had committed a different, fatal sin: I had used the machine! Yup, Greenworks maintains that nothing is returnable once the customer has used it. I asked how one was supposed to judge the efficacy of their products without using them. I received much sympathetic talk but no reasonable answer. No help was offered.
My best advice: Don't do business with these cretins.
Greenworks lousy customer service
I have multiple Greenworks 80 V tools, purchased thru Costco. When the chute broke on my Greenworks snowblower and I saw the inferior chute design had been improved I decided to buy the Greenworks updated model. Unfortunately, Costco no longer sells the Greenworks snowblower so I bought from Greenworks directly and added in a leaf blower, too. What a disappointment! My tools appear to have been lost in transit and calls to Greenworks customer service have stated the tools were thousands of miles away in the wrong direction or that the tools had already been delivered, or were pending delivery. I realized Greenworks had no idea where my tools were and I suspect they are just trying to run out time for their 30 day return policy. I will never buy from Greenworks again.
I ordered a filter replacement for a stick vac
I ordered a filter replacement for their stick vac. I ordered it based on the picture on their parts website which included both the filter and canister as a one piece unit. When I received the item, only the outer canister was included. I contacted their service call center. They indicated that they knew the picture was of both the canister and the filter, but only the canister was included even though the picture showed both items. I advised them I felt that was very deceptive and misleading to customers. While they were sympathetic, they offered no solution. I asked if I could still purchase and pay for the filters but have free shipping. They said no, that there was nothing they could do. Horrible customer service. Very disappointed with my interaction I received today.
Avoid Greenworks
"I have invested in a half dozen Greenworks power tools over the past few years, but I must express my deep disappointment with the brand. Despite the initial appeal of their environmentally friendly electric tools, my experience has been marred by significant issues that I can no longer overlook.
First and foremost, the customer service is abysmal. Whenever I encountered problems with my tools, reaching out for support felt like an exercise in futility. The representatives were not only unhelpful but also often dismissive, leaving me frustrated and without solutions. It's clear that Greenworks does not value its customers, and this lack of support has soured my impression of the brand.
Additionally, I found their advertising to be misleading. They promote their tools as high-performance and long-lasting, but my experience has been quite the opposite. The battery life is particularly disappointing, as many of the batteries have completely failed. I expected to get ample runtime for typical tasks, but these batteries drain far too quickly or stop working altogether, forcing me to pause work more often than I should.
To make matters worse, Greenworks sells reconditioned equipment without making it clear that the items are refurbished, which feels deceptive. I faced the frustrating experience of trying to return unopened equipment, only to be told that returns were not allowed. This type of practice is nothing short of scammy and predatory, leaving customers like me feeling trapped with products that do not meet expectations.
It's disheartening to feel this way about a brand I once trusted, but it's a lesson learned. I'm switching all future purchases to a more responsible, reputable brand
Highway robbery
Highway robbery. Don't buy anything from this company. It is fraud. They scam and steal yr money.
I had a problem with my greenworks 60v
I had a problem with my greenworks 60v. Leaf blower at about 4 months. Called customer service, got through to the warranty department no problem. They were wonderful. They helped me out after giving them the model and serial #. Could not ask for greater service. Thank You Greenworks 😊
Greenworks 80V Pro MaxPower Weed Trimmer. POS
UPDATE TO MY BELOW POST:
Greenworks customer service reviewed my feedback and issued me a brand new weed trimmer so I would not have to go without a trimmer until the part comes in.
Pretty awesome… I was not expecting this, just needed the trim line spool assembly. When the assembly finally arrives, I will be buying at least 12 though.
ORIGINAL FEEDBACK:
purchased a Greenworks 80V Pro Max Power weed trimmer from Costco. It was rated as a professional model, something you could use on a farm.
It worked twice. Cut maybe 4 acres worth of weeds and the string cartridge disintegrated. I have now been waiting three months for them to get the replacement cartridges back in stock and there is still no divinities date or if it will ever get back in stock. Not to mention the OUT OF STOCK cartridge keeps going up in price yet it’s not available
$250 weed trimmer that it could only be use twice before complete failure. Not it just sits. Worse part is I spent hundreds of dollars on spare batteries and trimmer line for it which are worthless because the unit won’t work. Total investment lost is around $500 for one JUNK weed trimmer.
I’ve contacted Greenworks customer service multiple times and I have received multiple arrival dates for a replacement trimmer line assembly cartridge only to be disappointed with extended arrival times.from days to months to now maybe in early 2026 or never.
I’m just taking the piece of junk back to Costco and telling them that they should not carry Green Works crap because Customer Service doesn’t have the products to support it. Not to mention it only lasted for about 5 hours of weed trimming over 2 days.
Do not buy
I spent $700 on a snow blower. They sent me a used snow blower. There were scratches all over it. Couldn't return it since my brother set it up and cut up the box already.
Piss poor quality product and service and lack of parts!
Greenworks has horrible customer service, and makes horrible products that don't last. Made of cheap plastic. Ok I can understand budget versions are inexpensive and not expecting them to be made of hard steel. HOWEVER, as consumers that we are, the idiots buying the product, we have a right to repair. These snowblowers, for example 20" corded 13A, all plastic, wear extremely fast. Greenworks expects its c ustomers to buy a brand new snow blower each time, when often it is very easy to replace either the blades assembly, belt or scraper. PROBLEM IS, they purposely refuse to sell parts. Example, the blades assembly is not sold. Yet the belts are, but rarely in stock. The scraper, which is the item that wears the fastest because it is very cheaply made and lasts less than one season in Canadian winters, needing to be replaced at least 1-2 times a season. PROBLEM IS, Greenworks purposely does not have this in stock, it is always sold out, and been so for the past 9 months+, YET they have scrapers for other models, like the 16" and other, but they completely abandoned users of the 20" 13A corded blowers, despite the item still being sold in stores all across the country. Greenworks has no intention of producing more of the scrapers or restocking, so the item is always marked as sold out, therefore making it impossible for people with this model of snow blower to buy a new scraper, rendering your blower useless, as without a craper, you will damage the blades, and damage the base of the snowblower. SHAME ON GREENWORKS and their horrible customer service, after sales and the lack of replacement parts. I cannot understand why there has not been a class action lawsuit. In my opinion Greenworks snow blowers should be banned from being sold in Canada!
Poor Blower and Vacuum Performance
Bought long hedge trimmer and saw. Experience was excellent and all worked well. Subsequently decided to buy leaf blower and vacuum with additional battery. Unfortunately the battery life is 20 mins with two 2amp batteries. The power of the blower (couldn’t take the skin off the proverbial pudding) and vacuum is extremely poor and 20mins barely gets you going in the garden. Needs to be a very very small garden.
Wonderful Customer Service
Wow! I purchased one of their blowers from Costco over a year ago. The fan blade disintegrated when something got sucked into it. I called to order a replacement fan blade and instead they are sending me a whole new unit! Meg, the customer service rep, was wonderful. Thank you Greenworks. I'm a fan for life!

Sketchy Business Practices
We put in a fairly large order last year which we did receive however, after receiving the product (portable standing lights) we asked for the invoice for our orders. The company outright refused to provide an invoice. We wanted to submit an order this year and I called ahead to make sure there would be no issues prior to the order. Since we have alike batteries we would have liked to keep all of them standard however, the company could not with any assurance state that they would provide an invoice. I have never in my experience seen a company so resistant to provide an invoice for something that was received. I do not know why this is but there is obviously something sketchy going on here.
