WHATEVER happens happens

@1ebilcat / 1ebilcat.tumblr.com

It can be done. Just don't ask me why.

hate hate hate how sites are increasingly trying to make right click saving images impossible. facebook, instagram, reddit (app), pinterest*, etc... all make you jump through hoops just to save an image. can you guys not please. how ddo i make them stop. can we get one of those EU regulations or whatever that makes them all comply, or are we going to have to wait for global socialism for that. ugh

oh look, the exact tool that would have saved me SO much time and energy trying to find images hidden in the source code 🙃

“ao3 always receives more funds and donations than what they ask for” yeah that’s because people love a place that actually protects all fanfics, art and artists against censorship, purity culture and capitalism. shocking, I know

This is the best description I’ve heard for this method, I always thought it was bullshit because I never heard a description that actually explained how to do this other than “tap your head 20 times”.

I have anxiety-induced hissing, which sounds/feels different from sound-induced tinnitus (which I have also experience). Sound-based tinnitus actually sounds like you’re “hearing” something in your ears, whilst the hissing I have feels like it’s “inside my head”, if that makes sense. But this technique still helps!!

Here’s a visual I found because I couldn’t understand the instructions well

My ringing just went away for the first time in years. What is this blissful quiet.

wait wait i gotta try this, i don’t think i’ve had Actual Silence since i was like 5

HOW THE FUCK

Reblogging to save a life, and also because, even if you don’t have tinnitus, this is totally worth trying if you like new sensory experiences.

HAVE THOSE BIRDS AND WIND BEEN THERE THE WHOLE FUCKING TIME

We all saw the same video.

We saw a calm, smiling Renee Good say “I’m not mad at you. “

We saw her turn her wheel as far as she could possibly turn it away from the angry man standing by her car.

We saw her attempt to leave.

We saw an overly emotional man hold a phone recording a video in one hand and a gun in the other.

We saw a belligerent man, without hesitation or logic, shoot a mother point blank in the head.

We know what we saw.

We saw a murder.

Fuck you and your lies.

One of the funniest villain tropes is when there's a character Of Special Skills, which even the villains are reluctant to do business with - not for any moral reasons, but because they're creepy. The kind of heebie jeebies you feel in your bone marrow. Like it's a huge dramatic thing when the villains decide that they have no choice but to resort to going to That Guy for help, and a poor long-suffering henchman is like "ugh, do we reeeeally have to? That guy is... icky. He eats corpses."

And the more major villain that made the choice throws something (may or may not be another minion) at the protesting henchman and goes "I don't care, go get that guy. (I would go get him myself but yikes I do not want to be in the same room with him)."

some birds are very intuitively named. looked up a sparrow going chipchipchip in my yard, it was a chipping sparrow. saw a black bird with red wings, it was a red winged blackbird. gray bird that sounds like a cat? gray catbird. the first time i saw a house finch it was perched on a windowsill. However, some birds are the red-bellied woodpecker

I gotta google something real quick

who named this bird

This seems to be a woodpecker thing. In German we have two names that have always bothered me. They're not technically WRONG, but idk... Let me present: the Buntspecht (lit: colourfull woodpecker/eng: great spotted woodpecker)

Sure he's colourful. Although if we want to get technical about it - he has one actual colour: red. But I mean I guess if he was the most colourful woodpecker, then sure, I guess that name could be fitting.

Well for your consideration let me present another woodpecker that is very common in Germany, the Grünspecht (lit/eng: (european) green woodpecker):

Yes, he's green. But that fucker is also yellow, red and - if we're counting them as colours - white and black. Like surely he is more colourful than that black-white-and-red guy???

I want a dachshund or other small dog because it seems like a good middle ground

Sorry for the unsolicited advice, but please do think it over. Dachshunds (and many other small breeds) actually require quite a lot of activity and exercise (mental and physical)*. If those needs aren't met, that can cause so many difficult behavioral problems. They're working dogs, after all: if they aren't given a job, they'll find one themselves (and it'll be likely something very annoying or unpleasant to you)

*yes, it does depend on the individual dog, but the general tendency points to those breeds being high energy

Also, a lot of people who do like cats want a Maine Coon because they've seen pictures of mine or others', and they're majestic! Huge!! Fluffy!!! Such a good kitty!!!!

Maine Coons are dog-smart, and basically tiny thumbless toddlers who will never grow up. They have long memories, they hold grudges, and they want things the way they want them. What you want is probably not a Maine Coon. I love them, but jumping from "cat" to "Maine Coon" is like jumping from "dog" to "border collie". Don't do that unless you know what you're getting into.

A lot of public media will be destroyed by this. Public TV and radio are vital for rural areas in our country, and without them, anyone living there will have a difficult time finding out about important news in their area.

One thing you can do is find your local PBS station and click “donate” at the top of the page. https://www.pbs.org/stations/
