Cirice as a dragon made by the wonderful @shinyrocksarefriends <333 She’s so so cute I love her!!!!
“This moment is totally out of character!”
Is it? Is it though? Or are you viewing the media through a surface level analysis that refuses to acknowledge the complexities of how this might be in character? Has the creator completely forgotten how their character acts, or have you perhaps assumed a restrictive view of the character that was never in the story to begin with?
I think this may be my favorite character design I’ve done this year, I knew it was going to be a challenge to nail down this design, and it took a while but I think I got there. I’ll probably redo the tattoos a few more times though. Pose by gonzais.
Some of my favorite details since Tumblr kills quality
I would criticize fan culture and such but I’m a classics major… literally the most toxic obnoxious fan culture with lots of Nazis, racists, and misogynists. We absolutely have shipping wars. Journals are published all the time dissing each other’s interpretations. My professor got banned from Swiss universities after he published an article. There are absolutely major scholars in the industry who completely lack media literacy.
So I guess… if your fan culture is old enough and toxic enough, you can turn it into an academic field?
my full piece for the 2025 @objectheadzine ! Had a ton of fun working on this :)
A concept sketch I drew up of Cirice before her death.
Not a huge fan of this one. I don’t think she’d ever let her hair grow out long enough for this look. Dress is alright, and it’s the only one I’ve drawn for her that I think she would actually wear. However it’s pretty bland and uninteresting.
I like the boots though, they’re cute.
I did draw on top of this for the portrait of her later. The sass in this drawing was simply too adorable not to finish.
Some sketches I did of Cirice using poses from @albanenechi and @mellon-soup. I was playing around with her hair, expressions, and fabric movement.
Cirice does not smile. Ever. She also always looks dead inside. Probably because she’s already dead.
Oathbreaker? No. Give me a character who cannot break their oath, no matter how much they may want to. The oath is a yoke they cannot take off. They are physically unable to do anything that would cause their oath to break. Their oath is a leash made of unbreakable chain and held in the hand of their patron. If it was chosen, it became too much to bear, and yet they were forced to bear it. If it was thrust upon them, there was no ability to say no. The oath as a cage. The oath as a curse.
