Let's play a game, Simon says I'm still that bitch. 💅🏿

@aishabellasbigblogofeverything / aishabellasbigblogofeverything.tumblr.com

I don't play favorites. I have no preference for love as a weapon or love as a healing device or love as lust. I am gifted to everyone because love is something that everyone experiences. A murderer acts in a jealous, furious rage, and I love him as much as I love a girl proposing to her fiancée acting out of pure, unadulterated affection.

🩷 New Pinned cuz I say so!!! 🩷

Hello, my name is Aisha Bella(as you can see from my username lol). Formerly known as thisismisogynoir, my blog is mainly dedicated to Black women and our issues and triumphs, as well as feminism/LGBTQ issues, however I also reblog about everything that I feel like under the Sun so feel free to have a looksie and who knows, maybe you might enjoy it here!

My sideblogs are @justanisabelakinnie and @princessefemmelesbian. Go ahead and check them out!

Basic DNI list is as follows:

  • Terfs/swerfs/radfems: you are all scum, and trans women are women.
  • Transandrophobia truthers: y’all are literally just (trans)misogynists and male supremacists and are no better than terfs when it comes to trans women(plus the creator of the term has a disgusting fetish for raping lesbians/forcibly detransitioning trans women). Fuck off.
  • Zionists/Israel supporters
  • Pro mspec/bi lesbians/lesboys
  • AFAB transfems
  • Neo-Nazis
  • Pedophiles

Joke jab aimed at fandoms racists who say characters 'have a thing for blondes/a type in blondes'.Yeah it is objectively racist, because every time it relies on erasing characters who they were canonically attracted to who weren't blonde and almost every time they're a poc.Prime example is Pjo-Percy was transfem-coded in the books to begin with and as you pretty obviously see by the actual canon black Annabeth's appearance, she's got 'dark hair' as the fandom phrases black hair nonstop fsr. Also them ignoring how Nico saying Percy's cute but not his type reads as a gay guy to his female friend thing in favor of loudly saying it confirmed his preference is blue eyed blondes yet claiming it as 'not racist'

sometimes i think about how important emu being a pink cute girl is to her character. she needs to have these traditionally feminine aspects to her because it supports her story of wanting people to take her seriously despite people inherently not. emu's story is literally about her specifically combatting her father and elder brothers while her sister stays on the sidelines and doesn't interfere. that's so clearly a gendered story and i wish people saw that.

Oh my god you're right I hadn't processed it

She does like things that are traditionally feminine in an infantilized way (like bright colors, colorful things, dresses and poofy skirts, and just. Overall happiness.), and the way people react to her entirely is actually a great exercise on recognizing how society treats women's interests in general (you know, how being interested in some bands is seen as a childish thing, because most of their fanbase is composed by women)

Okay, gorgeous animation aside, I love how this gifset shows these characters in way evocative of the four seasons.

  • Rapunzel is Spring, because she’s new to the world and the world is new to her - she’s young and small and naive, but she blossoms and grows into a strong, independent woman (and much-loved ruler of her kingdom, just saying)
  • Merida is Summer, because she’s all about activity and the outdoors and she’s a little bit fiery - she’s sassy and her temper is short and she’s totally independent
  • Hiccup is Autumn, because he’s a bit more mature and grounded - at least compared to Merida - and because his role in his movie marks a period of great growth
  • Jack is Winter, because look at anything related to the movie even just the wikipedia summary that one’s pretty self-explanatory

Also winter is symbolic of death, and Jack…died.

i just think... hazel and magnus friendship

This would be so sweet wtf. They both seem like the type of person to hold the door open for each other going “no after you I insist…” for like a good 10 minutes back and forth lol. They constantly try to dote on each other in their own ways. I think they’d become weird pen pals or something and send little trinkets to each other, like rocks and pins and craft materials n stuff 🥺 Hazel being super touchy-feely and complimentary and Magnus not knowing how to deal with it because he’s awkward as hell lmao. They do horse girl shit too probably

im thinking smthn like this

PSA: if you're watching the new Knives Out mystery (Wake Up Dead Man), please be aware that around 1 hr 34 minutes in, there's a series of flashing/strobing lights. the sequence lasts about a minute.

^ comment I got on tiktok bc I posted this same thing there. this is why I'm giving the warning because netflix and the theaters didn't 😔

[ID: comment reading "I have epilepsy went to see it yesterday and covered my eyes too late and had a seizure and all I could think was why are we STILL not putting strobe warnings on movies..." /end ID]

To be specific [spoiler warning for Wake Up Dead Man] there is a scene in the rain, the priest will slip on mud, run into the woods, and a fist will knock him out. Close your eyes immediately when you see the fist. Don't open again until you start hearing conversations.

Sharing for the plot specifics which makes it a bit easier for people who are watching compared to tracking the timings

pls block and report this person ichverdurstehier they are making disgusting and harmful statements about hyunjin for no reason

They're also racist, everything phobic and anti asian. They keep claiming that asian men are r@pists and abusers. Please report cause this is insane

Here's the account

On October 23, 1915, twenty-thousand suffragists marched on Fifth Avenue in New York City demanding the right to vote.

In the photo there is Komako Kimura (1887-1980), a prominent Japanese feminist suffragist, who arrived from Japan to help out her sisters in America and joined in the parade.

Kimura came from a poor traditional Japanese family, who had arranged a marriage for her when she was 14 years old with a man she had never seen. Like many women in Japan during that time, she was expected to obey the traditional customs. She was expected to be obedient, she was expected to follow the same traditions that generations of her forebears had followed before her.

But, on the way to the marriage ceremony, Kimura had other thoughts. She would slip out of the carriage and go into hiding. She sold her wedding finery and bought a ticket to another city. There, she started a career as a dancer to support her finances.

She then again defied Japanese convention by eloping with a young doctor. She would become a writer, publishing a novel, then edited a woman's magazine in Tokyo, called Shin Shin Fujin, the first publication in Japan of its kind asserting women's rights. It would be so controversial that the magazine would be suppressed.

The conservative government of Japan then started watching her and would refuse her to hold suffrage meetings in the streets of Tokyo.

She would also become a well-known actress in her country who would take on daring roles. Again, the government would step in, telling her that she needed to stick with nice and mild roles befitting of women at that time.

She responded to that edict by opening her theater to the public without fee. She would be arrested and put on trial. The government, however, never knew what they were truly dealing with: Kimura would defend herself, providing arguments that were so well thought out that her trial would receive much publicity. Because of her, the word "suffrage", previously unspoken before in Japan, would be carried into the remotest districts of the empire.

Don’t look at things you know will make you angry. Don’t read the comment sections. Don’t look at the blogs of people who add dumb comments to posts to confirm that they’re dumb all the time. Don’t read old conversations you had with people you don’t talk to anymore. Go look at pictures of kittens or something instead. Protect yourself from negativity in every way you can.

I cannot even begin to explain the peace that was blessed upon me when I realized this.
