am i the only one who thinks ilya’s niece might play a bigger role later on, maybe in a third hollanov book? maybe not, maybe she’s “just” there to show what an incredible family man ilya is, how deeply he cares (and loves), taking care of his niece even though his brother is an asshole, because he knows none of that is her fault.

but i can’t stop thinking about how she’s mentioned twice in this episode. first when alexei tells ilya he has a kid to take care of and ilya immediately points out that she has a trust and will get it all once she’s 18. and then later, when he’s with svetlana. it really sounded like he’s giving her something to take back to russia specifically for his niece!

like… hear me out: the possibility of a russian teen showing up at hollanov’s door sometime in the future??? i’m obsessed with that idea. even if rachel never uses this in a third book, i am BEGGING ao3 writers to consider the possibilities. because i absolutely will be thinking about them nonstop.
