God, I’m recording this history book and the connections it makes are insane

Essentially it tires to show how the Napoleonic Wars affected the entire world, not just Europe, from the US to Japan, which means we can link Napoleon to anime as thus:

Russian campaign, Russia calls back troops from NE Asia, japan moved in, Russo-Japanese war, which encourages japanese imperialism, which leads to ww2, then American occupation, adaptation of America culture into japan, anime

Furthermore, Napoleon took power from the French Revolution, which was partially caused by Louis XIV’s extravagant spending

This is not a figment of the imagination…this is a picture of a reality unfolding now, behind walls, far from cameras and the spotlight. Thousands of Palestinian prisoners languish in jails, many without trial: children, doctors, students, parents…their bodies shackled, their pain unheard. They are not asking for the impossible. They are asking the world to know that they are human beings…and that their lives matter.

I am one of them. One of those whose voices have yet to be heard. Over 550 days ago, our house was bombed while we were inside. I survived, but pain hasn't left my body. I was hit by shrapnel that remains embedded to this day, moving with every breath and waking me with every pain when I move in my sleep.

I need monthly medications and urgent surgery to remove this shrapnel, so I hope you will all stand by me and help me by donating please.

My surgery should have been done a long time ago… but the occupation destroyed all the hospitals, and due to limited resources, the siege, and the lack of support, I haven't been able to receive treatment yet. I urgently need to buy my monthly medications and travel to have my surgery as soon as possible…

Every passing day increases the risk to my health. Please stand by me so I can be rid of this pain as soon as possible. Please donate.

If you're in the US, now is a great time to talk to the young people in your life about the US military:

  • The recruiter is not your friend. The military employs child psychologists to learn how to make you think the recruiter is your friend.
  • The recruiter is allowed to lie to you and makes more money if they do.
  • The recruiter is paid a commission to groom children into cannon fodder.
  • The recruiter will tell you you're special and will go into special smart soldier programs instead of combat. They're lying.
  • The recruiter may tell you they can tell if someone can get PTSD or not and only recruit people like you, who won't. They're lying.
  • The recruiter may tell you you'll be too busy attending free college (!!) to go overseas. They're lying.
  • The recruiter may ask what countries you want to travel to and promise you bougie placements on military bases in those countries. They're lying.
  • Even "It's just four years!" is a lie - the government is allowed to hold you past your enlistment period with a stop-loss order.
  • The recruiter actually has zero power to decide anything that happens to you after you enlist and they more importantly don't care what happens to you.
  • If you enlist, you will be brainwashed to make you willing to do things to other humans that you would never be willing to do today.
  • You will be ordered to do things that will kill children. And you'll do them.
  • The military is not the only way or even the best way for you to go to college or start a career.
  • Military brainwashing will actually make you into a terrible university student because it degrades your ability to think critically and question your sources.
  • Having PTSD and/or a TBI will make it harder to be a student and keep a job.
  • Veterans' benefits suck these days.
  • Being a veteran drastically increases your risk of homelessness, suicide, alcohol and drug dependence, prison time, and becoming an abuser to your loved ones.
  • The military will expose you to chemicals that will drastically increase your chances of developing cancer.
  • The military will withhold information about your rights to conscientiously object after enlisting.
  • A lot can change in four years.

having a job is very weird bcos by and large your coworkers will be a variety of ages and you will not all be at the same stage of life. your coworker will be like, well I’m off home to spend time with my husband & child, what are you going to do with your evening? and you’re like, well, I plan on playing Rollercoaster Tycoon for as much as it as possible

I don’t know of the original poster might not be aware

but!

if you’ve been a victim of domestic violence, sexual assault, or stalking, you can enroll into the address confidentiality program (free of cost!) and be registered to vote as an absentee voter and your name and address will not be made available for the public

it is super easy to get enrolled - the application takes like 5 minutes, but it has to be with someone who is certified to do it (most likely an advocate! try going to a family justice center in your area or calling the Attorney Generals office in your area!!!!)

ALSO : 

you don’t need to have any police reports or have a protection order to qualify!!! you just have to sign stating that you’ve been a victim of one of the aforementioned crimes.
