My whole life, I've been a caretaker. You know, I love knowing that I'm needed. That's why I've dating nothing but Nicos. And you wanna know the best part about dating a Nico? It just takes the pressure off. You know, it's like you stay with a trainwreck and you're a saint. If you leave, it's his fault for being such a mess. But Derek, it's like he wants me but he doesn't need me. Like, there's no exit ramp. That's what so scary.
Jessica Williams as Gaby Evans in season 2 of Shrinking (2023-present) created by Bill Lawrence, Jason Segel and Brett Goldstein

David Mitchell and Sam Campbell's banter on WILTY is killing me. They're so funny together. I need more of them as a pair. It's 4 a.m. and I'm watching WILTY alone crying laughing. And David with the fucking tambourine

I think Sam has the potential to fuck with David on the same level as Bob Mortimer honestly

God I love Apothecary Diaries. Maomao is like a dog with a mouth full of Lego bricks to me. Babygirl don’t eat that

So imagine you go to a brothel and when you get there it’s full of beautiful women but then also there’s this dog. And when you ask β€œhey what’s with the dog” they’re like oh the dog, we love the dog, everybody loves the dog, the dog collects rocks from the yard. And you’re like β€œokay” but later you find the dog gathering piles of rocks and cementing them into a beautiful river-stone wall to protect the building. And you’re like β€œI didn’t even know dogs could do that”. And they’re like β€œthat’s nothing, check this out” and then the dog starts doing multiplication with the rocks. You’re like β€œwhat the fuck” and they go β€œnahh she’s just getting started”. And they start giving the dog complex mathematical formulas that the dog answers by laying out the rocks. And you go β€œholy shit that’s the smartest dog I’ve ever seen”. And they go β€œit’s the smartest dog in the world” and you’re like β€œwow that’s amazing”. And then you look outside and the dog is eating the rocks. And you’re like β€œcan the dog eat rocks?”. And they’re like β€œno”

One day you find out the dog went missing. β€œWe don’t know where the dog went but we miss the dog”, the beautiful women tell you. A year later the dog comes back. The dog is accompanied by the Duke of wales. β€œMy gardener stole this dog but now I would like to buy it”, he says. β€œThe dog has built me a beautiful castle and solved the viscount’s mysterious murder.” You aren’t sure how the dog did that by stacking rocks but you’re still incredibly impressed. The beautiful women are so happy to see the dog again. β€œDid you know that the dog can ride a bike?” The Duke asks. You look at the dog. The dog is obviously concealing a mouth full of gravel

This is the post that enticed me to watch apothecary diaries and now that I am watching apothecary diaries I am constantly pointing at the very deliberately cat-coded character, whose name is 'cat-cat', and shouting 'this dog can EAT ROCKS?'.

still believe that one of the greatest bits of all time was on January 6th, 2021 when. well. you know. and twitter was understandably an echo chamber of panic and fear and Justin McElroy just tweeted a selfie with a filter that was like β€œhave a delicious national spaghetti day” followed by 3 tweets that were like β€œfuck. i’m sorry. i don’t know how to delete scheduled posts” and as i type this two years later i’m laughing

a belated delicious national spaghetti day to you all

[ID: selfie of Justin McElroy in a Hawaiian shirt with grey flowers and turquoise foliage. There is a superimposed frame of spaghetti on a fork, and text that reads, β€œHave a Delicious National Spaghetti Day!”

Second image is a series of four tweet replies by Justin β€œHoops” [verified] from January 6, 2021. They read, β€œI’m so sorry I can’t figure how to unscheduled posts. Twitter please delete this post. fuck I’m ruined. oh god I’m wearing a Hawaiian shirt FUCK.” The image crops out subsequent replies to the thread. / end ID.]

said this as part of a larger point in a reblog but I'm gonna make it its own post:

humans have the right to do things that are mildly bad for us sometimes.

you have the right to eat way too many pierogi and make yourself a little sick. you have the right to go skydiving. you have the right to pull an all-nighter building the Imperial City of Tamriel in Minecraft. you have the right to get drunk in your living room watching football.

life is not about making the safest most logically correct choice at all times. you're a blob of salty meat piloting a flesh mech and you get to act like it.

This is called dignity of risk and it's a big topic in disability rights spaces. id elaborate but im fuckin wiped

it's always funny how people will advocate for bodily autonomy when it comes to certain things but then shy away from anything they personally wouldn't do to their own body. like yeah, that's why it's your body buddy. i can do what i want with mine.

[Description: a TikTok video showing someone holding up a Macbook laptop with an incredulous look, with a caption reading "Alan Turing after I bring him to 2026". The person inspects the laptop, and as they do so they say "Oh my god. This isβ€”this is incredible. Like, I justβ€”I can't even comprehend what I'm looking at here. Like, I just never thought that like in a million years society would ever, ever be able to create something like this." They pause and look at the laptop screen, and say "And you said they're both hockey players?" /End description]
