What do you think of Daenerys relationship with her handmaidens

I think it’s a bit of a mess tbh and that mostly hinges on the fact that Irri and Jhiqui are severely underwritten. They have no truly distinct traits from each other, they have no motives or aspirations besides helping and hanging out w Dany, they rarely weigh in with their own thoughts on Dany’s humanitarian and political projects besides in a very ‘yes man’ manner, and this is never meaningfully unpicked. And then the Dany/Irri sexual stuff is just. yeah a complete and total mess that I won’t go into fully but I do think it’s bizarre that in the first scene this takes place we reckon w what it means for Irri to do this for Dany within their power dynamic, and Dany interrogating this for herself has its part in driving her to do what she then does in Astapor. But then weirdly it happens twice (I think?) again in later chapters without any level of reflection, or any real reason WHY it would’ve happened again, and I find this difficult to make sense of. It seems really OOC for Dany to basically renege on what she realised about their power dynamic on like. a horny whim?? and ofc we never get Irri’s thoughts on it. So yeah it’s a total mess and hugely symptomatic of GRRM’s severe disservice to his Dothraki characters.
