one of the things that pissed me off most about the finale and just adds to the misogyny of it is Karen’s ending. She never gets out of the loveless marriage she feels trapped in. it is emphasized so many times throughout the show that she is stuck in this miserable housewife trope and wants more for herself than a man who doesn’t care about his kids or her. She has an emotional cheating plotline in s3 that they move swiftly on from and forget about, she goes through a whole ‘badass Mom’ arc just for her to still be rolling her eyes at her husband at their son’s graduation.

she’s just a baby and she still had to watch her mom get attacked and blames herself for not being able to save her. even though there was nothing she could have done.
