Tea Time
[I tried so hard to draw this out. To draw out Indi and Amy but after three attempts, each with the posing not working out. I gave up. I'll have to try again down the line. For now, I chose to write out a story based around the concept of it. This version of Amy and Shadow belong to @basilbunnycreachers . Hopefully they are in character. The Roleplay we did was where I kept reading over and over to ensure I got them close to accurate.]
After the debacle and death of his Shadow, Indi was genuinely in a good mood. Knowing he didn't have a dark cloud over him or the kingdom. He lingered to help his people learn about the differences between the three they had lost and the ones outside their dimension. Each and every single difference. A part of him did wish he did have Amy and Sonic. Between the two of them, he was sure they could have been happy. Even if Shadow had left or died. They would have been able to live on. To love them all and realize how badly they were taking the virus and the aftermath.
Having three variants in their place that took his shadow out felt carthardic. For a moment, he really did have his own set of loving parents. Even if his multiverse sister sent them. He got to feel the love he missed out on. He also got to meet another variety of his mom. Shorter than him but so much like how she had been when alive. He loved how every Amy always looked so beautiful. Even if they weren't his mom by blood, she would always be beautiful to him.
"Indi," Mina's hand had him look at her. "I can tell you wanna travel and I think...I know where." She set the coordinates and opened a portal. "Go. I think...seeing her will help. You need mom time and then after, drop by the one in Rush's World. Visit the variants of your mom."
'What about you and the kids?'
"Rave, Lyra and I will be fine. Go. Please. I can handle anyone who says otherwise," She revealed the paralyzing powder. "They won't get very far."
Indigo smiled, kissing her and as she walked him to the portal. Mina gave him a hug and told him to go and have a day with her. She pushed him through and he watched the portal close. He was in Sapphire's world. In the Town Square. He took a deep breath and looked around. He didn't know where Amy in this dimension was but he wouldn't have to wait long. Sapphire's dad, Shadow must have sensed him because he now stood next to him.
"Indigo," He touched his shoulder and smiled at him. "How are you? How do you feel?"
'I'm okay. A lot better thanks to more therapy and support care from Mina and the staff. Plus my twins have been great in giving me lots of love.' He noticed Shadow had new inhibitors on. 'you got replacements!'
"I did. I ran into Pearl, your sister. She is a lot like Amy. She truly had amazing kids succeed in her stead. I did study your inhibitors. They weren't made by Tails, were they?"
'No, I made them. I have made alot of failed ones. Those were my best ones and only ones.'
"Do you truly have no support? From any adult?"
'I...have my wife. The staff...um...'
"I meant Tails, Cream, Vanilla... Vector. What about Espio? Surely our friends must be there."
'Espio and Charmy are somewhere and I never met them. At least...I don't remember meeting them. Vector came once to the island but left. Vanilla is...gone. she got infected. Tails had to shoot her'
Shadow looked away, "I see. Tails was never one to handle taking a life well. Is he and Cream.."
Indigo nodded.
"Means she is with him. Then...I am going to take yours to our Tails. Can you stay for a few days? Our tails can maybe even help you learn how to make and repair them. With proper materials." Shadow looked at him with a knowing smirk.
'I work better...with junk on the fly'
"Not with these," Shadow looked at the two. "Have you thought about wearing four?"
'I have worn four but it actually makes me so weak I can't move.' Indi spotted Amy in the crowd and watched.
Shadow followed his eyes and saw where they were looking, "that's fair," He nodded knowingly. "Go visit with her. I will ask and see if Tails can help. Might have to ask Sonic to do that."
He walked behind Indigo and put his hands on Indigo's shoulder.
"She likes tea." He gently pushed him towards Amy. "Go on. She doesn't bite her kids."
'But...I am just a variant...'
"Amy, Indi is here!"
He turned to face Shadow but he was gone. He turned back to see Amy smiling at him. The first time they met, he ran like a child and stuck close to her. Even knowing she wasn't his mom but enjoying the warmth he missed. Rush's Amy brought the same warmth to him. He just...didn't have the guts to face such an intact version of his home world yet.
"There's my brave boy."
Indigo saw her standing in front of him.
"You look tired, honey. Have you not slept well?" She went on her tip toes and touched his forehead. "No fever, so it's probably just from the recent events, huh?"
He nodded and crouched, 'Hard to sleep after any encounters with him though this time, it's just from being emotionally drained.'
"I bet. To think, that version of me got spared seeing what he became. I just wish you hadn't found her. You were so young..." She touched his cheek. "You must have been so scared."
Indi hugged her and held on. She returned the hug and held him.
"And yet, you remain so sweet. No matter how much you went through. You never lost that piece of her. We're proud of you and your sisters." She whispered. "You are such a good boy and you are so strong."
She noticed the damaged ear twitch and smiled. Scars told a story, so they say. His may be bad but they showed his survival. He leaned away from her and wiped tears from his eyes.
"Hey, I was going to have some tea," Amy gently wiped some tears from his cheek. "Want to join me? You can listen to what I have been up to and then I can do the same."
'I'd love to have tea time' He stood up. 'It sounds like what mom and I did.'
"Well, let's go get some tea." She grabbed his hand. "Come on. We can talk more. I wanna hear about all you've done."
'Even the bad?'
"Yes. It's part of your story. I wanna know."
He let himself get pulled along by her. Hopefully she didn't mind a long tea session. He didn't. He missed the ones he had with his mom.
"Just so y'know. Even if I am not your mom, Indi. I don't mind standing in her place if you need me too." She smiled back at him. "Especially when you need advice."
Indigo smiled back at her, 'Okay, thank you'
Amy nodded and kept pulling him along. He let her. He'd visit Rush's Amy after and then go home.
