Well, it's a few hours before New Years over here in Australia. 2026 is going to be a big step for me, and though I can't promise it, I'm sure next year is going to be better. 2025 has been tough on me, and on everyone else... but I'm sure we can pull through. I'd like to thank everyone who's stuck around, especially from when I was mainly doing AHIT art.
This is getting a little sappy, but I'm glad everyone's still alive (hah, get it) and I'll see you all in 2026. Love you all <3

It's that time of the year again, and this time I've got an artwork for @rubye402 and their Wheatley design! He's struggling a bit with all those presents, bless him 💙 I don't see a lot of long hair wheatleys so it's nice to draw this little guy :)

As we're looking to fill out the entire soundtrack with themed artworks, some artists may want the same pieces as another. Due to only one person being allowed to claim one soundtrack song, our way around this is to put your username into the fabled "Wheel of names" to decide, and means there isn't any bias and completely random. Artists who are not chosen may need to find another song to inspire their art by exploring the rest of the soundtrack! We hope this encourages our artists to explore different ideas and sounds of the OST!

Hello and welcome to The Sound of Science: a Portal 2 zine project blog! My name is Bemb (@bembwashere), also known as BlueEyedMetalBall on different platforms and I am your host/organiser! I've wanted to do a big online project for a while, so I decided to start now with this zine!
This zine is for the 15th anniversary of Portal 2 in 2026, and to show the community's passion for this game even after a decade and a half later! However, aside from it being an anniversary celebration, This zine has a theme!
An artist gets to choose 1-2 songs from Portal 2's original soundtrack and make pieces inspired by them. From Chell wandering the halls of an overgrown Aperture after a long sleep or disregarding the vitrification order warning signs and explore the mysterious past of the company, your prompt is the song that you choose!
I'm looking for artists of many kinds! Be it pencil drawn masterpieces or vibrant 3D renders, I want to encompass the entire community as a whole! We're accepting from "new" artists to veterans of the art field!
(Generative AI will not be accepted and will be declined from entering the project.)
32 artists will be accepted into the project as the soundtrack has 64 songs total (2 songs total for each artist), and no double-ups! This gives me and other moderators an easy and relatively small group to focus on and lessen confusion!
To apply for the project, fill out the application form linked below. From now to the end of this month (31st of December), artist applications are open! I hope to see new and familiar faces, and I hope you all have a good holiday season!

Some chapter banner art I've made for a After Story/Post-Portal 2 fic I'm writing! It's set in my Android AU so I get to use my funky little human designs for the bots and OCs :)
I'm just super proud of how they turned out and excited to do more when I get around to writing more. It's my first multi-chapter fic and It would be Very Cool™ if others wanted to check it out! I hope you like the art at least!

The above is a video shared by smrchildsadness on Twitter, showing a person participating in a pride parade exchanging a pride flag with a person standing on his (am using his pronoun based on the TikToks/Tweets of what happened) doorway who had a Portuguese flag. There are sounds of cheers and crying and the two people hug each other as they exchange the flags. The man at the doorway then waved kisses to the crowd within the pride parade.
The Tweet says: "NO YOU DONT UNDERSTAND HE WAS WAVING THE PORTUGUESE FLAG BECAUSE HE DIDN'T HAVE A PRIDE FLAG AND THEY TRADED FLAGS AND HE'S SO EMOTIONAL TO GET HIS OWN PRIDE FLAG I'M EMOTIONALLY RUINED"
For context, apparently they were worried that maybe he's a nationalist because he was waving the Portuguese flag and some nationalists opposing the pride march were waving that flag. But upon interacting with him, it turns out he didn't have have a pride flag and he wanted to wave *a* flag in support of the pride march. So they had an exchange and now he has his own pride flag 😭🥹.

This elderly gentleman lives alone in Porto, when he saw the march coming up his street all he knew was he wanted to participate, so he ran home to get the only flag he had to wave as they passed by, when they did he was overcome with emotion and called over one of the activists, they hugged and exchanged flags, he felt so overwhelmed that he could only hold it and cry.
This isn't a story about a closeted elderly man, António lives and has been living alone for many years now and that little moment made him feel included in something for the first time in many years.
Says the article:
"The act was "of support”, guarantees the man, especially because “each one is as they are and we are all the same”. “The joy I felt at this moment. I cried,” he recalled, still emotional when looking at the photograph offered to him during this report.
However, even though it reached thousands of people, the moment screams a feeling of belonging, of joy and also a portrait of loneliness as a consequence of aging.
Behind that door, whose image spread across the country, António is the portrait of a condition that affects many others like him. He lives alone, but the walls of his home are full of memories of a life shared and full of love. “Memories I preserve,” he stresses.
He's not gay, nor does he need to be to support and respect the cause.
“We all have the same color blood. We are all the same.”
Still with an emotional look glued to the photograph that immortalized his gesture at the march, António remembers: “I felt embraced by all of them”. After a sigh, he says: “See this photo? I want to take it to my coffin.”

A mini comic that I made to try and work out a few headcanon ideas I had floating around in my brain. I know Deadlock is still a work-in-progress and is up to being changed, I still wanted to convey my ideas when I had the chance to. I do hope we get more content about Warden cuz I think he's a really interesting character to be partaking in the ritual (and how he would react to Mr. Self-Described Patron Eldritch Entity Bellhop)
