My counselor once told me to make sure I wasn’t doing things to distract myself from the boredom rather than try to sate it. I feel its one of the most important things he ever said to me.

When I’m distracting myself from the boredom, I read or game excessively so I don’t feel the emptiness of boredom. It’s a short term thing, and it only staves the boredom as long as I’m doing the thing.

When I’m sating myself from the boredom, I pursue things I am genuinely interested in and so find myself feeling fulfilled and happier for a longer period of time. Even if I stop doing it temporarily, I don’t immediately fall apart as I would with the distraction.

This is, incidentally, why learning boredom tolerance is so important for most creative people / and most creativity.

I often attach exercises like this to the concept of rest too. ‘Is this nourishing rest, or meaningless/empty rest.’ I.e. did I play those video games in a way that felt nourishing and good, or was I just spending empty time and still feel the same amount of stressed and tired as before? Did I scroll Instagram while lying down in a way that felt nourishing or good or intentional, or was I just spending empty time and still feel the same (or more) amount of stressed and tired as before?

This one was forever in the making, but it's finally here.

If you enjoy process videos as much as I do, here’s one of mine.

Sorry it doesn’t start right from the beginning. I used a pencil sketch for the character outlines.

I feel like in Yautja x reader fics, something we absolutely DO NOT talk about enough is yautja and human life spans. And the fact it's canonical that if a human eats a yautja heart, they can gain up to centuries on their lifespan.

Like... normally, yautja naturally live very long lives, up to hundreds and hundreds of years old. Humans die when they're like... 75. And that's if you're lucky. Imagine your yautja mate can't cope with the fact they know they will outlive you and will have to spend the vast majority of their life without you by their side, so they go like... absolutely apeshit (haha get it?) on another yautja (perhaps a traitor of their clan or enemy), and they manage to claim the yautjas heart and convince you to eat it.

OR, human mate is absolutely TERRIFIED of the thought of dying and hates how short their species lifespan is, so their yautja mate claims the heart of one of their own to ease their mates poor, weak human brain.

IDK, just a random thought...

I believe that Jax used the last exposure left in his camera to take the photo of him with Pomni

In a recent post I made there were attached images of Jax's wall of polaroids from episode 7 coupled with the image that Glitch posted to their socials after episode 6.

There is no canon year (as of writing this) that the game for The Amazing Digital Circus that the cast is trapped in was developed. Fans however have come a general consensus that the game was developed around 1998-2000. Following that era for Polaroid cameras as it would be logical that the camera is period accurate in game and the approximate dimensions of the photos we see in the show, the camera would be using I-Type film that measure 3.5"x4.2". The packs of film sold for these cameras at the time came with 10 film sheets.

Jax has 9 photos hanging on his wall. There is 1 image we have seen him discard.

Assuming he did not go rooting around in the trash after discarding the photo and that their photo is not one of the 8 we do not see that are hanging up, this would mean that their photo was taken with the last film sheet in his camera.

He chose to use the last of his film to capture a moment with Pomni.

I am so ill from them right now.
