[Recovery has been a long, strenuous process. It's had some time to repair small portions of its shell, but it knows it will likely take centuries for it to repair itself completely. At least it's been able to revive its garden, and even organize it better and more effectively.]

[Now, though, it's aimlessly wandering through a forest. It figures it might as well.]

[Before you know it, you walk into a presence. A very familiar presence, one that you know well— Though, of course, it’s different. You can sense it from further away, it’s more powerful, and twice as unstable.]

[In fact, you can even sense the magic in the air sort of swirl around you. It knows you’re here, too, obviously, but it’s nowhere to be seen.]

[It's been a rather long time since it's felt your presence. Sure, you feel a bit different magic-wise, but it's been a long time. Its magic has definitely changed in that time. But instead of it feeling strong, its magic feels significantly weaker.]

Young one? Is that you I feel nearby?

[The magic around you pulses slightly, which you come to realise the longer you stand in it. Then, the magic drifts slightly in a direction. You’re a bit too far away for it to hear you at normal volume, but if you follow the presence, you’ll probably find it.]

[It has no reason not to trust this magic. It remembers you. And it holds you close in its heart. So, it casually follows the trail of magic.]

[The closer you get, the more you can feel its excitement to see you again. It takes a few seconds, but eventually you reach the clearing its in.]

[It looks… Different. But it’s still widely smiling at you.] Null!! Hello!! [It also sounds different, voice deeper than you remember.]

Young one! It has been quite a while, correct? It is nice to see you!

[You can hear a matching enthusiasm in its voice. Compared to immortality, it's barely been any time since it has seen you. An yes, it's felt like an eternity!]

[It deices it might as well not question your changes in appearance for now.]

It is! I’m really glad that it’s me you found— C’mere, please, I really can’t walk well anymore, heh. [You can see its wings sort of moving behind it, almost like a small version of flapping since it’s sitting against a tree. It just looks happy, though.]

[It happily floats over to you. Thankfully floating has become easy again with the time it's had to heal itself. When it gets close, it's reminded of how small you are.]

[It’s been so long since it’s seen you. Its excited! Really excited! Though— It can’t help but take note of the cracks along your shell. The excitement, while still there, morphs more into a level of concern.] Are you alright, though? I know the last time we saw eachother, it was, uh— [Not that good.] But! Recovery? How are you? I’d really like to know! And, uhm, feel free to sit, I can— Do you want background music? I’d like to show you my music too! Theres a lot I want to talk to you about though, hehe.

[It chuckled light-heartedly and sits down next to you. Already, it seems more emotive than it used to be. Not that it understands emotions whatsoever. It definitely feels them much more than before.]

That is a lot of questions to answer at once! Though, music sounds lovely! I did not know you had taken a liking towards it.

And I am well. Full recovery will certainly take centuries, however. The only true concern is my exposed core. The rest of the pain has mostly dissipated.

Sorry, sorry— Its just good to see you again! I have a lot to show you! Here, let me— [It holds out its hands to summon its guitar, and then starts to play a quiet and soft melody. It takes a few seconds to get used to it before it starts talking again.] Music is probably the thing I love most now, so I can play an instrument or two.

I’m glad you’re well, though. It’s as best as we can do right about now I guess. Exposed core, though, that— That sounds about as bad as how mines doing right about now, actually. But… It’s good you’re not in pain. I wouldn’t want that for you. [Its voice takes a sort of sad tone at the end.]

[Immediately, it's impressed by your music skills. It wonders how long you've worked on music. It's very cool that you've found a new hobby that you seem to enjoy more!]

I just simply hope nobody attempts to touch my core. Thankfully, that has not proven to be a problem since I have rarely talked to other people.

[It hums.] You’d… Better be careful. Ribbon would try. Even if he cares about you, especially because he cares about you. You should stay away from him. Me by proxy, really, but I’ve learned to live with it. [It’s still happy to see you, it really is, but… The typical sadness has returned. It’s used to it, though.]

Ribbon? Is that not you?

[Although it prefers calling you "young one", it distinctly remembers other people referring to you as Ribbon. Its magic takes on a confused tint.]

[It shakes its head with a small smile.] No, no it’s not— You wouldn’t know this, ‘cause it happened while we we're busy doing… Other things, but, uhm… [A sudden wave of nervousness washes over it. Normally, it doesn’t have any issue telling people this, but… You… You’re important to it. It cares what you think. You’re probably the last living being that really makes it want to continue.] Me and Ribbon, uh, kinda aren’t the same. But we, we share the same body, and whatever comes with that— I-I’m Zomi. Hey, nice to really actually meet you again. I guess.

Ah, interesting. Sounds like a more recent development, correct?

[It doesn't seems to have a negative reaction. It's just intruiged, more than anything. You feel similar to the young one that it knows. It wonders if Ribbon is any different.]

Well, it is a pleasure to meet you, Zomi. May I continue to refer to you as young one?

[It may struggle to adjust if you say no. It's always thought of you as "young one" more than anything else.]

[It’s…. It huffs out what might be a laugh, strumming its guitar in time with it. It doesn’t know why it expected anything different.] Yeah. Yeah, I like that nickname. I am pretty damn young, so it fits! But yeah, it’s kinda new. I’ve been living with it for what feels like forever though. Ribbon is— He’s… Please be careful around him. He’s not a good person, barely even a person, more like an empty shell full of negativity. And he only knows how to get worse. He’s not anyone you know, and someone you need to be extremely careful of. ‘Kay?

Very well, I will be careful around Ribbon. No... That does not sound right to me, either. I am tempted to call him... Other young one. I believe that is a fitting nickname.

[Despite its somewhat jokey response, it nods seriously when you ask it to stay away from Ribbon.]

I promise I will attempt to exercise caution and avoid other young one.

…Heh. He’ll be pissed if you call him that, but sure. [That nickname is… Very funny to it. It’s not entirely sure why.] Thanks for being careful. Though I think it’s safe to say that he will try to kill you, at one point or another, especially with all of those cracks in your shell. Or whatever it is. It’s like his addiction, torture. And here I thought alcoholism was bad. [It shrugs.]

That seems like a.... Very unconventional hobby to have.

[Now that it's experienced torture, it knows too well how miserable it is.]

I would not like to experience torture again.

[Its core is already somewhat damaged. It would not like anything worse than that.]

It is.He’s so— Whatever. No one likes Ribbon except for Bee and the people he manipulates into liking him, which is a stupid high number, actually! He’s the worst. I hate him. A lot. It would be better if he was dead. [Its playing of its guitar gets a bit louder out of anger, a bit more intense. Then it just… Sighs, tiredly. And the music goes back to what it started at.] But he’s not, and working up the courage to kill yourself and the only thing you have left is… Too much for me, I think. So I’m still here. And so is he.

..,Enough about him. Why don’t we— How about we talk about something better? How’s your garden? If you’re, uh, still doing that, anyway.

I would prefer if you were not to die. I hold you in high regard, young one.

[It has a better capacity for pain now. It's certain it would feel devastated were you to die. Ah, a change of subject.]

I have worked on reorganizing my garden. It is now efficiently organized by types and colors of plants. Along with a certain designation for any poisonous or potentially dangerous plants.

Learning the differences and needed care for each plant has been endlessly fascinating!

[…It sighs a bit. It dying would just be a favour for everyone, just a part of the process to kill the bigger problem here. No one would particularly miss it, anyhow. It’s not the social one of the two. No one even knows it properly, and maybe thats for the best. No big handful of people that it’ll miss, just… You. That’s all it has, really, and it’s sure that you’ll live fine without it. Anyway…]

[It listens carefully to your words, and by the end, it’s smiling again.] I’m really glad you’re still gardening. I’d… Like to see it someday, I think. I bet it’s beautiful. [But theres a high chance that will never happen. And it hurts, but that’s alright. At least it’s talking to you now.]

Yes, I should show you to my garden someday!

[It puts a lot of work into its garden. It has even cleared out the middle section where it used to be trapped. It ended up putting a gazebo there, which has been very nice when there's rain. Rain can fall into its open core, after all.]

[Although the garden hold some of its worse memories, it also holds some of the best. It's not about to get of something that important to it.]

Maybe when I figure out a better… Uh, moving places situation. [Sure, it could just teleport, or turn into nothing but light and have that not be a problem like Ribbon does, but… Thats Ribbons thing. It would rather walk somewhere if only to see what the scenery has to offer.]

Ah, yes. Perhaps we can meet together again to figure out a solution to your movement.

[It doesn't really know how it can help. Maybe it can teach you how to float, or something along that caliber. But an excuse to see you again is a very welcome one.]

I.. Wouldn’t recommend trying to find me. You might find Ribbon instead. [It sighs. It… Doesn’t mind. Really. It focuses on playing its music instead.]

Right. Is there a potential method I could use to differentiate between you and other young one?

[It still wants to come across you again. It's not listening to your attempts to dissuade it.]

[It huffs again, wings re-situating themselves as it shuffles in place a bit.] Uh… You’ll know. Ribbon has lighter hair, higher voice, uhm… Less style in general. Neutral toned clothes. Ass-eating grin, entirely fake personality…. You’ll know.

Very well. I will keep that in mind and attempt to avoid other young one as much as possible.

[It's kind of upset that it will have to avoid part of you. But.... Well, that's okay. Things will be fine, and it will be sure to keep a lookout. Though... It's not very stealthy. Hopefully it never had to worry, then!]

Good. Thanks. And… [It should really ask you to do this. It… It probably won’t do anything in the long run. But it should try. The music stops, trailing off to sounds of birdsong.] …This is… I’m asking a lot from you. But it’s— It’s because I trust you, and I care for you. So… Uhm, if he— If you ever, like, uh, meet him, and he tries something. Please don’t be afraid to— To kill him. [It can’t help but hesitate. Asking this from you specifically is… Different, somehow.] Please. And if you somehow manage to kill him without killing me too, then… I want to go with him. So just… Yeah. Sorry. It’s a lot.

[It falls completely silent for several minutes.]

That is.... A heavy ask.

[The last thing it wants to do is have to kill you. It cares for you so, so deeply. It... It will just hope it will never come to that.]
