We are LGBTIQ+ refugees trapped in Sudan, facing brutal persecution, violence, and rejection daily. Hunted, starving, and without medical care, we struggle to survive. Disease spreads, and every night brings terror. With no safe haven, no aid, and no escape, we fight desperately to stay alive.

Hunger is a relentless torment we go days without food, our bodies aching, our strength fading. Medical help is a luxury we can’t afford; wounds fester, sickness lingers, and pain becomes our constant companion. Our shelters are barely standing, offering no protection from brutal heat or freezing nights. For lesbians, even basic sanitary products are out of reach, stripping us of dignity. Every day is a brutal fight for survival.

I’m currently living in a refugee camp where conditions are inhumane. Food and clean water are scarce, medical care is almost nonexistent, and basic human rights are constantly violated.

LGBTQ+ individuals especially queer women, lesbians, and trans people are targeted daily. We face constant threats of violence, including corrective rape, physical assaults, and institutional neglect. Trans individuals are brutally attacked, and our identities alone are often used against us when we try to access basic aid or protection.

There is no mental health support, no safety, no dignity. Many in our community have already taken their lives because the suffering is too much to bear.

We are trying to survive, but we can’t do it alone.

Imagine being in a condition where no human being should ever have endure struggling to survive, everyday is a fight for food,basic diginity & the hardest part is constant fear of violence. The homophobia here is brutal & unrelenting people are beaten humiliated & even worse. I dont expect miracles, but if there is anyway anyone could help even sharing my story it could make a huge difference between life and death

The suspension of the refugee program has really left so many LGBTIQ people stranded without help or hope for their rights. So many of us have no hopes of leaving this horrible situation that we are going through currently. We really need external support from our community:

Transgender individuals in refugee camps face life-threatening challenges due to a lack of support, basic needs, and protection. Many are rejected by their own communities, denied access to food, healthcare, and shelter, and left vulnerable to violence and discrimination. Without legal recognition or safe spaces, their survival becomes a daily fight.

I escaped a place where my identity made me a target where being trans meant facing brutal violence, cuts on my skin, and the humiliation of being stripped bare. I ran for my life, hoping for safety, but found more hate in another camp. Even when the world tries to break me I still try to survive :(
