if I was Boromir and I found out the guy I died protecting named his son not after me but my brother I'd be so mad
I always wondered if there was a taboo about naming children after people who were dead amongst Hobbits, or something else that prevented the use of Boromir as a name. Especially since Pippin was so impacted by Boromir's death, you'd expect him to memorialise the man who died to save him and Merry. It does strike me as odd, I must admit.
