hi everyone! i'm coming on here to say my life has taken a toll for the worst, and I'm currently living in a shed. aka homeless. as well as jobless, i was living up in texas with a full time job, but unfortunately none of that money is saved as it was only for a few months and my sister took everything I made. as well as allowed her husband to try and hit me, verbally abuse me, and overall treat me disgusting. she forced all her responsibilities onto me, as making me care for her child in the process. and because I was so tired from working 8-10 hours every day upon walking an hour to work as well, and coming home and cleaning the rest of the day, i was kicked out. so I'm now back in my home state. and once again struggling, i still can't drive as i came from a abusive family who wouldn't teach me, and where her husband was supposed to help me he never did, all they cared about was my money and for me to do their jobs for them as they sat on their asses. trying to talk about this situation in a mature way with out saying how disgusting and vile they absolutely are.

anyways with that out there, my commissions are open and these are emergency commissions so i can support myself somewhat as, finding a job is very difficult right now and this is my only means of income.

My favorite part of Blue Eye Samurai is the revival of fucked up homoeroticism. Stories used to contain plenty of guys who aren't explicitly gay but do gay things. Some of this was intentional queer coding and some of it was the logical conclusion of writing fucked up men who are close and weird about it. This fell out of fashion as gay representation became mainstream and acceptable. I'd thought it was a lost art.

Not the case with Abijah Fowler and Heiji Shindo. These men have sex with only women and somehow manage to make their relationship gayer than some actually gay couples in other shows. They have dinner together every night. Heiji wanted to hang Abijah's painting in his bedroom. Abijah called Heiji his "right hand and two feet on land, fondest heart" while threatining him. They got sucked off while sitting next to each other. Heiji wanted Abijah dead. Heiji sat fully clothed next to Abijah and talked business while Abijah was being pegged, all while watching a woman be groped by an octopus. Having haters doesn't make you special. Everyone's got haters. You forget to use your blinker in traffic just once, and the driver behind you is like "fuck that driver, I bet they never use the fucking blinkers ever, fucking dipshit", that's a hater. You're halfway to being born and your older sibling realises they're going to have to share all their shit, that's a hater. And if you don't have haters before you were born, you'll be in the hospital crying your first breath and someone else hears you in the hallway and thinks "oh fuck there's a fucking baby somewhere here." One minute old, did one thing, and already got one hater.

A friend of mine from around here who is Very Christian and has never had a Jewish friend before was asking me some stuff about antisemitism today, and it made me realize that the ways people talk about various types of bigotry and racism are so designed to stump people about the nature and purpose of systems of oppression. "Why do people hate the jews so much?" is such a common refrain and while there have been many books and articles written pulling apart all the important contextual and historical things that can help people understand antisemitism SPECIFICALLY, what I ended up saying to my friend was this:

"Something to understand about antisemitism is it isnt just ideological. The expulsion of jews from various countries was very often a method of "legally" seizing their wealth when the church needed money. It has been historically an incredibly convenient source of both a group of people to blame and also an easy way to just... Be able to steal from people, lmao. It has served very concrete material purposes for churches and governments throughout history. Sometimes you have to approach asking those questions from a different angle because it often isnt about the hatred so much as it is about ... Redirecting energy and attention, right, like upholding structures that benefit those in power. The hatred is convenient because it allows those in power to take actions that would not be tolerated if the group in question were not considered to be Exceptional in their inhumanity. Like the undocumented immigrants now, asking "why do they hate the immigrants so much" isnt always a productive avenue of thought because the hatred is usually just... Useful. Rather it is more helpful to ask "Who does it benefit for these people to be treated this way" -> "what do they need to make the general public believe about that group of people in order to justify this treatment". I think sometimes we are made to think hatred of jews is special and rooted in something different than other hatred... It's not. I mean all types of racism etc are unique. But it very much is about justifying actions that benefit a ruling class in all instances, imo."
