this week, I do! I’ve been locking in and trying very hard to finish summerland. with any luck, the last two chapters will drop within the next two weeks.
for now, a penny snippet from chapter 23:
“I think Basil is good for him,” I offer.
“Simon?” Agatha asks. “I hope so.”
“I’m surprised he’s so…” I don’t know the word I’m looking for. Chill? That’s not right. He’s still got the same energy he always has. Not really mature either. Nothing against Simon, but that boy acts like a teenager. I’m glad he’s not trying to be older than he is.
“Mellow,” Agatha finishes.
“Yeah.” That feels like the right word. Softer around the edges. Growing into himself. I’m really quite proud of him, all things considered.
