prev post was jokey but it does make me absolutely raging that women on screen (animated and not but specifically animated in this context) are by default hairless as if no hair ever grew there at all. theyre also thin by default and anyone questioning why a woman has been designed to be so thin immediately is partaking in discourse, as if the idea that a woman could be like mid size or fat in animation is in itself political. armpit hair on a woman in art is political.. its so dire. in animation i dont expect individual leg hairs to be animated because thats just difficult (unless its a few little lines for texture or in a purposeful stylised way) but it is a conscious choice to design a woman without underarm hair, something almost all adults have. its so glaring to me at this point as a choice that was made in the design process. a man can have a full beard and fuck off fuzzy chest hair but if this woman doesnt have entirely waxed armpits grown men will get too scared. we've got to get out of here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

perhaps a hot take but using “migraine” as a stand in word for “headache” is like saying you’re so ocd because you like organized spaces

Yeah, I also have migraine disorder and it always angers me when people do that, AND when they try to label headaches as migraines when they're not, like "sinus migraines". That's not a migraine Deborah, that's a headache. Migraines are a neurological disorder. Your sinuses are not inside your brain. Take a decongestant.

And it's not an indication of severity of pain!!!! A migraine is not a very bad headache, it is a specific type of headache.

Some migraines are painless! Some other types of headaches are excruciating! Severity of pain is not what determines whether or not something is a migraine!!!!!

yes thank you for saying this! one of the main ways migraine is misunderstood is in the fact it’s a whole body complex neurological disorder. the fatigue, the vertigo, the extreme sensitivity, the brain fog, the light headedness, they’re all part of migraine disorders but many people who don’t have migraine disorders really just don’t know or think about

Oury Jalloh was burned alive in a German police cell while his hands and feet were cuffed to a bed. the cops claimed he had set himself on fire but offered no evidence. No one was convicted. It took 2 more violent deaths in the same police building (Hans-Jürgen Rose, died from internal injuries from blunt force impacts, Mario Bichtemann died from a skull fracture), before one cop had to pay a fine. No cop faced real consequences.

15-year-old Jerryson Noor was shot and killed by police in the Netherlands after being accused of trying to steal a bicycle. We was running from police and clearly posed no threat.

Independent forensic tests and later expert analysis commissioned by Jalloh’s family suggest it would have been very difficult for someone bound to ignite the mattress on their own and that fire accelerants such as petrol may have been involved.
