Welcome to neurodivergent hell

@chaosbutautism / chaosbutautism.tumblr.com

This is just creative nonsense, all bundled neatly into a pretty package

Introductions, I guess. I’ve seen a lot of blogs do this, so I guess I’m doing it too.

You can either call me Chaos or San. I use she/they pronouns (might change). I speak both Dutch and English. I’m a biromantic asexual.

My hobbies are art and writing. I mostly draw people, but I’m trying to practice drawing different things and I mostly write fanfics.

This blog’s only purpose is getting random ideas and cool stuff I written (and maybe drawn later on) out of my head and into the world.

Fandoms I’m currently in: Little Nightmares, Identity V, the Mechanisms, The Long Walk and The Magnus Archives

DNI: racists, lgbtqia+phobic, ableist/ anti-disability, pedophiles, pro-life.

Things I like to talk about: the fandoms I’m in, neurodivergency, headcannons for characters, art, my fics, writing and music.

Never be afraid to send me an ask about something! I REALLY like talking lol. I’ll do you one better, send me an ask with a rough genre, maybe with an example song, and I’ll respond with a song rec from my hodgepodge collection.

Well, that’s it for now, I think. If you read this, nice to meet you. Hope you don’t mind this messy, chaotic blog to float somewhere where you got to see it.

Roommate wanted to share her recipe for her "high cake" for when she gets munchies: Oreos, brownie mix, cookie mix, layered in a pie pan. Cookie mix at the bottom, Oreos in the middle, brownie mix on top.

I figured it was already a thing and I am happy it's called slutty brownies.

A customer contacted our team with questions, and then finished their email with: "I am daunted by the complexities and unknowns." I haven't been able to stop thinking about it since.

Reblog if you are daunted by the complexities and unknowns

The White House just launched a “Media Offenders” list.

On the official WhiteHouse.gov website.

Not a campaign page.

Not an RNC graphic.

The government’s actual website.

They’re listing reporters by name.

They’re accusing news outlets of “offenses.”

They’re stamping “EXPOSED” over every independent newsroom.

They built a leaderboard for “repeat offenders.”

Like journalism is some sort of crime and sport.

This is not “messaging.”

This is not “spin.”

This is state-run media targeting,

and we have never seen anything like it in the United States.

Ever.

They’re calling Mark Kelly’s PSA “follow the law” sedition.

They’re calling journalists who report it criminals.

They’re building narrative infrastructure for repressing dissent

All while a former TV host is being accused of unlawful killings.

You don’t put reporters on a government enemies list unless you’re planning to do something with the list.

This is authoritarian architecture.

And they just published it out in the open.

war is peace

freedom is slavery

ignorance is strength

and big orange is always watching

1984? pshaw! we have 2026. (:

not romantic not platonic but a secret third thing [what would happen between earth and the moon if the earth stopped spinning as illustrated by xkcd randall munroe]

Im gonna be so real can yall actually talk about ways we can support trans women in the UK instead of giving all the attention to fucking JKR. I already know that Harry Poter sucks, I wanna know how to actually HELP people. Something something you have to love the oppressed more than you hate the oppressor

trans actual uk - trans led and run advocacy, education and empowerment organisation

fiveforfive - collective fund for trans women and girls and transfem causes

gendered intelligence - trans led advocacy org

mermaids - supports trans youth

akt - lgbtq youth homelessness charity

loving me - domestic abuse service for trans people in england

not a phase - for trans adults

spectra - trans led advocacy, education, and other support, also focuses on sexual and mental wellbeing, London-based

trans creative uk - trans artists countering media negativity by raising trans voices, Manchester-based with national reach

trans unite - directory of support groups in the uk

trans kids deserve better - action network by and for trans+ youth

trans safety network - 'a research collective exploring and analysing institutional and organised harm against trans people in the UK'

gender community lending library - provides free access to books about transgender history, lives, and culture

im an administrator for The North Wales Trans, Intersex & Nonbinary Network, a grassroots community lead group doing everything we can so support our community in our local area, here is our website and open collective page where donations can be made to us.

Haven't seen anyone talking about it here, but vocal transfeminist and writer Tara Knight has been sent a threat from the fbi insisting that she stop speaking about "radical gender ideology" and get rid of the past 3 years of her work.

A black trans woman is getting personally threatened by the fbi for being a transfeminist. What the fuck. Hopefully this gets more reach than my usual posts so that people who are able to can support her.

I just wanted to say that I do see faux allies interacting here, and you are not welcome here. If you think it's "harassment" or "stalking" to collect evidence of racism and call out racism by your favorite white person, you are not anti-racism.

You are not an ally to Indigenous people or any BIPOC if you treat white people like victims when called out, but don't step up or show any allyship with Indigenous people or other BIPOC, who actually get stalked and harassed off of this platform by the same poor little white babies you want to coddle.

You are not an ally to Indigenous, Black or Jewish people when your response to us calling out cultural appropriation, bastardization of our languages and words is to tell us that our cultures and language "aren't sacred." You are a racist and an antisemite.

A well informed autism self diagnosis is just as valid as a psychiatric diagnosis. Additionally, under the given circumstances it is safer, most probably less expensive and you don't need to wait for any appointment.

10 screenshots from a twitter thread by @devprice with white text on black background.

The thread reads as follows:

I hear from many trans & nonbinary people who are actively seeking an Autism diagnosis. My advice is RETHINK THIS. Restricting Autistic people's access to gender affirming care is a major TERF talking point. As legal attacks on trans healthcare mounts, a psychiatric dx is a risk

The high overlap between Autism & transness was one of the main "concerns" JK Rowling rose in her "TERF Wars" blog post. Numerous fearmongering anti-trans articles influenced by TERFs have raised the issue since. if youre trans now is not a good time to seek a formal Autism dx.

An Autism dx does not unlock access to any beneficial therapeutic treatment, bc there is no "treating" Autism. Formal diagnosis makes us vulnerable to legal & psychiatric control and gets our competence challenged -- you dont need to subject yourself to this. diagnose yourself

I am close with dozens and dozens of Autistic people, and I have no idea who has a diagnosis and who does not. It does not matter. There is no reason to ask, no reason for others to care how someone identifies and how they arrived there -- all that matters is community support.

also if you cannot afford to pursue a lengthy & expensive lawsuit, it's unlikely a formal diagnosis will actually protect you from discrimination at work, in school or in housing. if you have the means great, but most don't. disclosing disability can be more risk than its worth.

if you need a dx to access resources such as disability benefits or extra test time, by all means go for it, but be cognizant of the potential costs. you could be denied for surgery, lose control of your assets, be found legally incompetent, lose custody of your kids...

My autism dx was forced on me at age 2 and kept me out of the military in my 20s. It’s been nothing but destructive. I was beat up in sped and believed myself to be stupid my entire life because of it. I can’t even buy life insurance.

By Emily Johnson @/emily_rj

In some states, people with autism face being denied organ transplants, are at higher risk for forced sterilization and/or denied contraceptive and reproductive care, and have a higher risk of police brutality I considered this and decided informal diagnosis was best for me

By AK Faulkner is sweet and...

In the UK, an autism diagnosis is already a significant barrier to gender-affirming care. The GICs automatically try to discount dysphoria as autism during your initial assessments with them. If you arrive pre-diagnosed with autism they write your dysphoria off as that.

As someone with a diagnosis, I concur. Not only do these legal and healthcare barriers come up, but people around you will INSTANTLY treat you differently. It will be different for everyone, especially BIPOC, but for me my parents and people I live with and my work treat me like I'm stupid and need to be guided through life like I dont know how to be a person without their help. It is infuriating and while the diagnosis was incredibly validating... I just dont think it was worth it.

Also worth noting that Dr. Devon price is a psychologist who specializes in autism, who wrote “Unmasking Autism” and is also trans. So his warning should really be taken with a lot of weight of the expertise behind it.

Quite frankly if a cis woman wants he/him pronouns a. Good for him and b. So much the better for everyone else. Enough biological linguistics, everyone needs to get a little weird with it
