Art that brings life to the Middle Ages...
✨ Welcome to Chivalry on Canvas ✨
Chivalry on Canvas is a blog that explores the middle ages through art; both in actuality and our perception of those distant times. Here, I collect art that embodies the "medieval aesthetic," Here, I collect art that is inspired by, set in, or from the middle ages.
Check out my other blog @wanderingiphis, which focuses on Ancient Mediterranean civilizations, Greek mythology, and the "classical aesthetic". This other blog is (soon to be) mainly an art blog, but it does include other content as well.
Art pieces included in this blog:
As of now, any form of "traditional art,"
Like physical-medium paintings, sculpture, illustration, etc.
(this might change to include digital/new media art in the future)
Asks/Requests:
Note - I have it set to allow asks with images

Reblog tag (optional): #chivalry on canvas
Second (sorta) art blog: @wanderingiphis
Extra note on Asks: I'd also like to mention I have a bit of a background in art. I'm not an artist (sadly), but I am rather knowledgeable about art due to both personal research and academic studies. The bulk of my knowledge is from a college-level art history class. My art history teacher specialized in Italian Renaissance art, she had been to Florence on many occasions, and had connections with a family that owned a Renaissance era chapel whose altar piece we studied in class. She was extremely passionate about the subject and her teaching provided me with an expansive background knowledge of art, art history, history in general and art analysis. All of which helps me provide the same here, so if you want to know something, don't be afraid to ask.

Joan of Arc

Joan of Arc (c. 1412 – 1431) is a patron saint of France, honored as a defender of the French nation for her role in the siege of Orléans and her insistence on the coronation of Charles VII of France during the Hundred Years' War. Claiming to be acting under divine guidance, she became a military leader who gained recognition as a savior of France.

How long have you been painting and creating for now?

I'm not an artist, I just love art. I'm sorta like an art historian and/or art curator (if you can even call me that). My Interest in art started about two years ago, although it really began with my art history class. I had probably the best art history teacher a person can have. She taught me so much about art, and if I wasn't an art lover before I took her class, I definitely was one after!

Thanks for asking! If you have any more questions feel free to ask! 💕
