"It's hard without dreams," he starts. And he vaguely recalls saying these same words to someone, somewhere else, some time ago. But he can't remember who. Or when it was. "Hard on anyone."
And he takes the opportunity to use the other man as a means of getting his own thoughts away from himself, so they weren't just his own burden to bare.
"I’ve been hoping a dream would come to me, even without the sleep. It’s possible. The state you fall in when you’re not quite sure of the world around you." His eyes dart to the side, trailing off like it's obvious. "Or yourself..." Like he's talking about everyone, now.
"The kind of dreams you get from a fever. Sick body, sick mind… dreams will try to mend you any way they can when you really need it."
He sucks in a breath and holds it before relinquishing. "But it’s like they’ve given up on us now."
The odd insomniac seemed... bothered.
He listened to the other intently while already thinking how he'd take the advantage for an attack. Surely once everyone slept...if the office wasn't too crowded either, or else there'd be risks of waking others up. His words were also sinking in him a little, he can't recall the last dream he's had or..if he's ever dreamed since he became what he did. ''...I wasn't a-aware you could dream while conscious, if that's w-what you're saying...That's interesting.''
His body was constantly fighting off something wrong with him so he could understand a bit better what he meant by fever dreams, but often these happened in the form of short hallucinations, voices and shadows that bothered him, at most. ''T-this will sound cliché and..y-you've probably heard it but sometimes..a full stomach helps with sleeping problems. H-have you been eating well?''
