it is sort of a miracle the american government and economy took this long to really truly confangle itself. like the fascists have taken a remarkably long time making the surveillance state this powerful, but they really didn't have to. the united states populace has shown time and time again that they dont really care about the harm done to anyone or anything if it's not happening to them. the us government could have continued to lynch innocents on every block this whole time without a minutiae of consequence. they didn't have to do all the sneaky sterilizing and neighborhood repaving and price gouging and what have you. they could have been this explicit the entire time, the idea of this country having an effective checks and balance system is a joke. oligarchs have always had power within the united states but it really is pathetic how long it took them to stop being so subtle about it.
like, nothing the trump administration is doing right now surprises me. the american right wing is an accelerationist death cult committed to worshipping the dollar and their egos.
however- why didn't they pull this shit in 2016? why get so obvious about it now? it's not like the dems did anything meaningful to prevent this sort of insane brutality both inward and outward, so why be subtle? why just cut red tape during his first term? why not legalize monopolies? why not begin invasions then? it's israel, right? the major difference has got to be the public recognition of the genocide and an increasing desperation to pillage more precious metals/oil for AI. it all goes back to war and military needs. for what though? after israel murders and rapes the land and its people, what then? who's next? what are they building up to? do they even know?
