Crawling out of the wood work here trying to pretend my life isn’t falling apart.

We don’t talk enough about this part of The Golden Raven

This is so unbelievably fucked up, and I need all of us to just look at each other.

Riko made himself a newspaper cutout shrine about Andrew’s rape above his bed.

And then forced Jean to read the full report from Proust out loud, while torturing him.

Like can we just, talk about this for a couple seconds.

Kevaaron shippers please explain it to me.

I’m for real, absolutely zero judgement, I want in.

I don’t see it, but I think maybe it’s because y’all are more enlightened than me, and I want IN.

You have something I want but just am too stupid to see

DM me, explain it in tags, fucking I’m open for it all just, I am begging to Lean (TM)

I really appreciate all the explanations and suggestions! I’ll be checking out the fic recs and report back!

Captive Prince and All for the Game a PSA

Alright this might give me some pushback, but it’s just my opinion, and a friendly heads up.

If you’ve seen it recommended to you and have no idea what it’s about, please please please god read the trigger warnings.

I often see it recommended to AftG fans, and while I don’t disagree that they’re for much the same crowd, Captive Prince is Brutal (TM).

The relationship starts out very very harshly, and extremely abusive, both physically, mentally and sexually, pretty much the whole first book and a handful of the second.

Basically, if you had a hard time liking Andrew because it stuff like Eden’s or the Choking Incident(s), I don’t think you’re going to like Captive Prince very much.

It is a hard read, and you’re going to have to get really cool with a lot of awful, really fast to even vaguely enjoy those books.

That being all said… It’s a pretty solid book if you ask me, and while it’s way more graphic and brutal than AftG, it does have a handful of similarities.

Ps. I know that I can’t control people, and I’m a huge hypocrite for saying it, but if you are a minor you should absolutely not read this book. Captive Prince is fucked up, and you are not old enough for this one champ, trust me.

Random linguistic worldbuilding: A language with six sets of pronouns, which are set by one's current state of existence. There's a separate pronoun for people who are alive, people who are dead, and potential future people who are yet to be born, and the ambiguous ones of "may or may not be alive or aleady dead", "may or may not have even been born yet", and the ultimate general/ambiguous all-covering one that covers all ambiguous states.

The culture has a specific defined term for that tragic span of time when a widow keeps accidentally referring to their spouse with living pronouns. New parents-to-be dropping the happy surprise news of a pregnancy by referring to their future child with the "is yet to be born" pronoun instead of a more ambiguous one and waiting for the "wait what did you just say?" reactions.

Someone jokingly referring to themselves with the dead person pronouns just to highlight how horrible their current hangover is. A notorious aspiring ladies' man who keeps trying to pursue women in their 20s despite of approaching middle age fails to notice the insult when someone asks him when he's planning to get married, and uses the pronoun that implies that his ideal future bride may not even be born yet.

A mother whose young adult child just moved away from home for the first time, who continues to dramatically refer to their child with "may or may not be already dead" until the aforementioned child replies to her on facebook like "ma stop telling people I'm dead" and having her respond with "well how could I possibly know that when you don't even write to us? >:,C"

@witchofanguish it is also used in poetry and plays, ghosts talk like that. Imagine being in a folk story, staying overnight in an abandoned cabin and in the middle of the night there's a knock on the door and a bellowing voice going

LET ME IN.

and from the "me" alone you know that whoever is out there is not one among the living.

OP IS PLAYING 6D CHESS WE GO HOME NOW.

This is brilliant.

I have exactly 2 positions in the Kevin Romance game

1. AroAce king, my guy has exy thats IT

This includes the fact that he’s always around Neil and Andrew, though when he’s asked if he’s dating either he just makes the most disgusted face ever.

He will make the same disgusted face when people/reporters/the other foxes ask him about them.

He’s so uninterested in them that he’ll completely ignore any kind of romantic shit between the two of them if he needs something from them

He will will not knock before entering the dorm room, even if he knows Andrew and Neil are alone in there

He will not knock on any door ever actually

He just waltzes in and makes his demands (usually: play exy with me now or watch exy with me now), no matter how much clothes anyone is wearing

Neil and Andrew watch history documentaries with him even though Neil finds them dreadfully boring

He’s like the third wheel who knows that both of the people in the couple are fucking obsessed with him

2. He is dating Andrew and Neil

It’s unoriginal but I love it, don’t need to elaborate actually.

kevin bought jean postcards and magnets kevin made jean promise he wouldn't try again kevin told andrew he's worth it kevin promised andrew he'd find something andrew could build his life around kevin told neil to run so he would live kevin offered to talk with neil about riko kevin put his issues aside in an attempt to help jean kevin told jeremy to be careful with jean
