any company that sells software for profit will have their products degrade over time. they can't just "stop making their products worse" because making their products worse is the most profitable business model, and any company doing otherwise will either die, or be bought out.

not wanting to learn new programs and tools is valid, but it's also one of the #1 ways that these companies keep you buying their stuff (apple is real big into this one). if you refuse to use free and open-source software, you are condemning yourself to use software that becomes more and more unbearable to use.

completely changing how you interact with computers is a difficult, but worth it in the long run.
