here are my favourite recurring light yagami behaviours:

- *hysterical screaming tantrum* *sudden perfect calm* literally no transition between the two

- responding to a direct question by staring at his hands for five minutes while he thinks of the perfect non-suspicious response, then not actually saying the response out loud

- putting on a performance for the truman show

- alien emulating human behaviour by reading the wikipedia page, convinced he’s doing a bang-up job

- the sincere and unironic belief that adultery will make him look less suspicious

Happy new year everyone! While 2025 wasn't great for me, I'll walk into 2026 in hopes that everything can and will get better. I hope everyone has a wonderful year ❤️

While we don't have an occasion this year as we did last year, we noticed you really enjoyed our 2025 highlight of some of our favorite comments and interactions on our various social media. For that reason, we decided we'd do it again this year! And we're only posting it on our Tumblr, just for you guys. ;)

What was L’s biggest mistake?

HANDS DOWN it was accepting light's proposal to be confined to prove his innocence. it makes no sense to let light design the terms under which he could be proven innocent. light even proposes this earlier on, and L turns it down for this exact reason.

his second-biggest mistake was letting light go after the confinement. it was silly to do it in the first place, but he doubles down by freeing light immediately rather than at least making him wait a bit. why let light set the timeline? except he's backed himself into a corner because -- as he says here -- doing otherwise would violate his right to freedom of movement, and the rest of the task force is too fed up with him at that point not to revolt if he pressed the point.
