i periodically check the number of tags on my blog out of curiosity- a pretty decent degree of this is honestly dictated by 'how much Stuff do other people on here make about them' since, you know, it has to exist to reblog it, lol.

however the exception is apparently tarantulas, who is about to break four digits despite there being about thirty of us in a small shack in the wilderness somewhere, so to speak. this is proof i love him the most

i know in my heart of hearts that once the dust settles in post-canon they meet up on earth, and without really thinking about it magnus shows up not only as a holoform that looks like verity, but verity when she is seventeen, and she absolutely shrieks when she sees him like HEY WHAT THE FUCK

but also, as you say, i think verity getting that real tangible proof that magnus continues to hold her in such high regard after their couple years working together- that he boasts about her to his coworkers, a thing hedonia confirms he does!- would be really touching to her. i mean, that he sent stakeout to her was already a kind of indication of that, but this is proof that he cares outside a purely professional realm. it is very cute!

however. did he have to pick her when she was seventeen and wearing That oh my god magnus please change it

(sidenote: i believe it was @quetzalpapalotl who back in the day brought up that this would have the side effect of people who saw them in public thinking they were sisters, which verity would reluctantly find hilarious i fear. yeah this is my uptight younger sister. minimus is of course used to being introduced as such you have to imagine.)

I just adore the detail that while everyone else gets a holoform explicitly representative of their actual selves, Magnus nicks the form of someone who he really admires and uses their image instead. One of the best 'oh godDAMMIT' reread moments in the comic.

reread up through Shadowplay last night, and you all know i love that arc to death and i do because it is excellent, but i gotta say. it's kind of funny how on the one hand the MTMTE depictions of idw Optimus are tonally so obviously trying to course-correct him to be Obviously Awesome And Heroic in a more conventional way, because Roberts is very precious whenever he writes OP (in the way, tbf, almost all TF writers are).

but also. like. how he actually acts in stuff like Shadowplay is so shitty if you strip away the tone that the arc presents his actions with. lmao. i had completely forgotten that after his big self-important rescue of drift from those guys and taking him to ratchet, he tries to arrest him oh my god optimus
