the average person with bad taste can be into some extremely banal garbage but when you get close enough to someone with otherwise good taste that they start a recommendation by going off on a preamble about how they don't necessarily recommend it you know you're seconds away from hearing about some real torturously wretched dogshit

friend from work will have you watch a two hour movie where you can feel every second as it passes by, but enemployed movie mutual will put you on the kind of shit that feels like crawling on cobblestone until emaciated

people are reading this as the latter friend recommending dry, pretentious cinema. that's not the case. not that kind of situation. you're getting no enrichment out of this. I need you to understand they're making you watch Gooby because "it's kinda good"

Not to insert myself here but as someone who owns Ghost Rider 1 and 2 on DVD I do actually need everyone to watch it right now because in the second one a kid asks Nick Cage as Ghost Rider how he pees and Nick Cage says “it’s like a flamethrower” and then they hard cut to a CGI skeleton in full black moto leather pissing a jet of fire and then it does a shoulder check at the camera and nods like “hell yeah brother”

Fully derailing this post because I found a gif

what do you mean they are enemies and his country destroyed hers and now hunt the survivors and he is the hunter-in-chief and they are both touch-averse but constantly feel like touching each other but dont and they save each other all the time and there is so much yearning

ART yelling at its crew to do their laundry because Murderbot's important person Dr Mensah is going to be onboard and it needs to make a good impression because it wants Mensah to approve of their 'relationship' and be okay with them 'moving in together', and then being so nice to Dr Mensah when it's been an overbearing, domineering, sarcastic nightmare the whole book is something that is so special to me

reading the cruel prince again and “Jude” is such an old, archaic sounding name, fairly unusual for a YA heroine. Its so poetic and boss at the same time. it has so much weight and gravitas like a 50 year barrel of whiskey. its so understated but powerful. You take Jude seriously. You respect it instantly. Jude takes no shit and files her taxes one month in advance. Jude makes you afraid but like in a sexy way. Jude is mommy. Jude is the name of all time.

And Cardan sounds like a teenage jock who is only going to college because he plays lacrose and because his family is upper middle class.

The Resident is so fucking funny. It's about Conrad the resident but also nic the nurse and Devon the intern and Mina the other resident and Bell the chief of surgery and lane the chief of oncology. You don't even know who's an attending or resident until a minimum of four episodes in. Conrad was a raging racist and frat boy horny edge lord loser in episode one AND bell was racist too AND Conrad nearly fucking killed a patient ON PURPOSE and they just pretend it never happened.
