the concept of michael wheeler witnessing chappell roan perform “good luck, babe!” at the vmas in full paladin drag
You can end the cycle El! You don’t have to kill yourself to release yourself from the trauma of abuse!
Kills herself
Look for these signals! Complete these steps! You can love yourself AND be loved! You’re not “different” and you WILL fall in love!
Literally nothing happens
You’re the heart! You ARE needed! You don’t have to become your father and mope around for the rest of your life!
Take a wild guess
Byler not being endgame is lowkey extremely painful from Mike's pov. He couldn't say ily to the supposed love of his life in her "final" moments, never finds out about the painting lie that literally saved his crumbling relationship, heteronormativity killed his longest, softest friendship, never finds out about how will's feelings for him gave him powers, never gets to escape the cycle of conformity, never got to make his own choices, never got to break free from the narrative he was chained to. RIP mike wheeler, you could've been so much
i'm gonna paint a picture for you guys really quickly okay... guy has girl and best friend... guy has more chemistry with best friend than girl... marketing promotes guy and best friend together... fans become dedicated to guy x best friend... guy and girl declare their love in the last minute of the show and girl dies to save world after they kiss... guy mourns her forever and gets a deadbeat job... best friend leaves and continues to thrive...
okay so is this voltron or stranger things?
!!stranger things finale spoilers!!
mike wheeler is possibly the worst character ever written. maybe i'm being dramatic because the wound is still fresh but... are we serious. you're telling me there was no reason for him to not hug will at the airport. there was no reason for him to say "it's not my fault you don't like girls." there was no reason for them to go crazy together. there was no reason for the one-way sign. there was no reason for "The First I love You" to play during the mileven kiss in season 3. there was no reason for him to look at will's lips all the time. there was no reason for ANY OF IT. HIS ONLY CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT? MEET EL, LOVE EL, LOSE EL, MISS EL, FIND EL, LOVE EL, DON'T TELL EL YOU LOVE HER, MAKE UP **OFF-SCREEN DURING A TIMESKIP**, LOSE EL AGAIN, MISS EL AGAIN. THE ONLY TRAUMA THEY COULD SHOW FOR MIKE DURING THE VECNA DEATH SCENE WAS LOSING EL IN SEASON ONE. SEASON ONEEEEEEEE (1). absolutely nothing has happened to mike and they decided that his perfect conclusion was to become a recluse author who grieves his dead girlfriend while his friends go on to a better life. and of course, let's give will an epilogue boyfriend to soothe the pain of assault and years of unrequited love. jesus christ.
So, at the end of the day, Mike the Brave needed the courage to do what exactly? To finally kiss El after being emotionally constipated all season?
And remember the crucial lesson, gay kids. If someone doesn't flirt back with you once, go move somewhere away from everyone you know and love and be gay there.
And first crushes at 12 years old are true love, so long as it's a boy and a girl.
the fucking flashbacks as the mileven scene is happening made me laugh out loud like oh here's mike being a shitty boyfriend oh here's them not understanding each other oh here's them sharing no interests oh here's them being the worst couple on earth oh here's him saying he loves her after being talked into doing so by his best friend and because he's literally in love with his best friend's feelings what the hell sure
