i'm sure there's many more but i'm just obsessed with the level of care and detail everyone clearly put into this game. every chance to include a fun callback to the movies is seized, every reference stacks with the movies but also builds out into new directions so it's not endless recycling of the bits we already know, it's true to the characters and also takes them somewhere new. all my love and adoration to the team who worked on this because they really hit it out of the fucking park

My child, who spends their entire life being transfered from home to car to school and back, and is not allowed to leave the house or talk to anyone and can only in their wildest dreams imagine a life free from constant surveillance, is very sad. Obviously they're dumb and lazy, like all kids these days.

kind of a tangent but i recently went to a bowling alley with my friend i'm 19 he's 18 and the woman at the door didn't want to let us in because there was a sign saying under-18s needed adult supervision. everything got cleared up and we were able to go bowl, but i'm still so mad about the fact that kids need adult supervision to go to a bowling alley and arcade. like okay maybe young kids should have supervision but what do you mean middle and high schoolers need to hold mommy's hand while they play video games. kids aren't just addicted to their phones because phones are addicting, we're addicted to our phones because there's nothing else to fucking do

I'm sure banning kids from online spaces while simultaneously not ensuring that they have access to offline spaces to socialize in (without having to rely on their parents who already don't have time for them) will help them feel better & less alienated from society.

Don’t take this as hate, I’m just a very weird particular little person— but the more I think about it the more the first Back to the future is held up in my mind and the others become more confusing. Don’t get me wrong it’s a fun time but I’m sort of bummed about it?

The sequels aren’t as? Tight? For lack of a better word as the original. They don’t wrap up as neatly or have that same heart— it lacks the stakes? In a sense? Like there still there on some level (mostly the second) but in a different way where it’s less on the emotional connection and more on just goofs - which the first is plenty goofy but in a semi grounded way (as grounded as a sci fi comedy can be) there’s a semi serious layer the sequels lack

It struck me when thinking about Marty getting clothes in part 1 vs part 2 — part one there’s some time (off screen) they’re real clothes etc. part 2 — while I belly laughed that same ?? Consideration?? Is a gag, it becomes more costumey even for people within a time

Totally agree. There’s heart to the sequels, sure, but they’re also kinda un-serious (besides Doc’s 1885 death in Part III that Marty helps him avoid). Part II just seems goofy af… 👀

i hate hazbin fer MANYMANY reasons, but here’s one i’ll share today because hazbin n my oc universe do share qualities, n by criticising hazbin, it helps me.

mainly, i want to discuss alastor.

alastor is a black/creole? (its never made clear exactly, you’d require yer own historical context to know, which is ridiculous considering his race is a ‘CRUCIAL’ aspect of the story.. its almost as if him being creole was written last minute!! /sarc)

n his backstory of him being human was pure fanservice slop. his racist experiences, having lived under jim crow, n ‘overcoming so much to get his own radio show’ (that rhymed haha).. his life, growing up as a POC…. ITS NEVER *SHOWN!!* AT ALL!! ITS *IMPLIED*!!

the problem IS, is that if its a crucial PART of his development, then it SHOULD BE SHOWN CLEARLY!!! WE SHOULD KNOW 100% THAT HE EXPERIENCED RACISM!! BUT ITS NEVER OUTRIGHT SHOWN OR STATED, BUT WE KNOW HE DID ONLY BECAUSE OF THE TIME ERA HE LIVED UNDER!!

although i am white myself, racism SHOULD be shown…. RIGHT?!

i dont understand why racism, in this instance in hazbin, is almost CENSORED??? why isnt it OUTRIGHT shown?! its PRETTY fuckin important n traumatising! his race in his origin story DIDNT even make it on the podium. fuck, it didnt even ENTER THE COMPETITION!! racism should NEVER be an implication.

another thing, i HATE how all hazbin fans just ALL collectively have to have a ‘GOTCHA!!!’ moment. everytime you bring up a shitty flaw in the writing, a plot hole, a GLARINGLY obvious problem, tehy HAVE to excuse it. theres always SOME FUCKING reason as to why that is.

i might b biased because theres nadda i hate more than ‘gotcha’ moments n every criticism having a reason. it just sounds liek you cant accept criticism, because every piece of criticism has to b explained n just… solved??
