unpopular opinion but i think a ship that's not canon but both halves are canonically insane about each other is infinitely better than a ship that's canon and boring
Rhea Seehorn is a fantastic actor and she deserves these accolades.
That said I saw people on here calling it groundbreaking for lesbian roles and that is simply not true. Straight actors have been winning awards for playing gay for quite a long time. In 2022 it happened twice at the Golden Globes alone.
The people doling out these awards actually love gay characters, as long as the actors aren’t. I don’t necessarily think queer roles need to be reserved for queer actors but just once I would like to see an out lesbian holding a trophy for a lesbian role.

Carol being so empathetic and quick on the draw to help anybody if she thinks she can, but nobody trusts her because she's kind of a blunt asshole who hates talking to people (valid in context imo)

The Hivemind who is openly trying to end humanity, admits to it constantly, but is loved and trusted by almost everyone (including real-world Reddit) because they're so darn polite, gentle & 'just-a-widdle-guy'-coded, and love-bomb the remaining humans 24-7.
