I don't know how this post got 30k notes in a week, and it's a bit scary to read all the comments and reposts. I did not expect so many fights in comments and dismissive replies. Like... I get it. Elagabalus wasn't a good person, and so are many other roman emperors. And yes, I wasn't aware that there is "THE British Museum".
Anyhow, this is not the point. The point was that archaeologists are not dumb, they are capable of finding out if a person was a transgender in lots of cases. They can be biased, sure, but overall this "bones" argument is stupid. Most people that bring it up, don't even know biology past the basic "xy and xx chromosomes" simplification, not to mention our looong looong history as a humankind. And why should I even care about future archeologists?
You should live your life as a person you feel you are, because it's your life, your happiness, your body. Just be kind, spread love and not hate. It's not too much to ask, right?
