hello! i would like to talk about something very near and dear to me in relation to dan. in light of dnp's last tiktok/reels reaction video, i have personally seen on insta when i scroll thru reels that dan has liked several (for example, these ones) in relation to the green party/zack polanski.
if ur not from the uk, or just don't know much about what's been going on, this is extremely important! we are experiencing as a country a rise in far-right dickheadery, particularly with the political party reform. however, we are also seeing a rise in people becoming disengaged with our current ""left wing"" government in power, the labour party, who are isolating lgbtq (particularly trans ppl), disabled, working class and many other people.
the green party (or "the greens") is a staunchly left-wing, socialist, people-first party. for many years we've had a two-party system with labour and the conservatives (or "the tories"). since zack polanski has been voted as leader of the greens, everything has changed!
zack is "the uk's answer to zohran mamdami". he is a gay, jewish man who openly:
- wants to increase taxes on the super rich
- is completely pro palestine, including wanting to stop funds going to israel
- is vocal in his support of the trans community
- wants to give devolved governments (particularly wales) more powers
- believes migration/immigration is important in the country
- and more!
so to me, dan very explicitly interacting with content in support of zack and the greens is very important. we know dnp are pro-palestine (having done their charity streams) and are obviously very left-wing and supportive of the trans community, but have not necessarily discussed voting politically (correct me if i'm wrong on this!).
tl;dr dan (and by extension, phil) continues to be an incredible human being who genuinely cares for all minorities :)
