I collect second-hand pieces, create outfits and take pictures. I call it art. Born in 1988. 163 cm. Professional translator. French-Canadian from Montréal. Lived in Okinawa (2016-2018) and in Tokyo (2018-2022). Back in Québec since October 2022. Living with my gorgeous white cat Madame Bissonnette. On this hell site since 2010. Yes, the person on these pictures is me. Please do not use my pictures without my consent (reblogging is fine, of course). https://linktr.ee/fannyrosie

🩷My one and only Valentine🤍

Thirteen years ago, when I adopted Madame Bissonnette, I never thought she would become my absolute everything, even though it was love at first sight (on both sides, I dare say). I had seen a few other cats for adoption before her, but the intense feeling of my heart being torn apart that happened when I saw her made me choose her above all of the others. And every day, I love her more and more, beyond words.

She's extraordinary, and our personalities match perfectly. She has seen all of me, the good and the very worst, yet she has always been there for me (and I will always be there for her). I'd never thought I'd experience unconditional love, but here it is.

The heart necklace I wear contains Madame Bissonnette's hair. My dear friend Emer made it for me.

Dress: Son de Flor; Cardigan: second-hand Axes Femme; Shoes: Fluevog; Heart necklace containing Madame Bissonnette's hair: made by Emer; Soulmate bird pins: @valalavande.tattoo; Cat pins: from different artists I cannot recall at Design Festa; Earrings: vintage; Ring with white cat: Echanttlic Echantilly; Tights: Heattech by Uniqlo

Madame Bissonnette, 2011-2025

Madame Bissonnette left this world on November 24th. She was my beloved, my soulmate, my better half, my reason for living, my everything. It was always her and me, a bonded pair, against the world. She was incredibly intelligent and the strongest soul I have ever met. I am devastated. I've spent everyday crying for months.

Some of you might have realised I disappeared from social media for several month. On August 4th, I received the worst possible news: Madame Bissonnette had a cancerous mass. After extensive tests, I was informed that it was pancreas cancer, the most deadly cancer for any living being. Treatment (surgery and chemo) would have been risky and really hard on her, as she also had a cardiac pathology since very young, and would have only prolonged her life by a few more months, so I took the hard decision to not make her undergo it. I then dedicated every second I was not forced to work to her wellbeing. Hobbies, sleep, seeing people, posting on social media, etc., nothing mattered anymore except for her. I wanted to make her feel like she was the most loved being on earth. I keep thinking I failed her, and I just hope she never thought she failed me, because she never did. She was the best. She passed away in my arms, in her home, on November 24th. A few hours later, I was hospitalised. Today, after receiving another message asking me where and how I was, I felt it was time I informed you.

I sadly don't have the strength to answer your messages and comments, but I will read them.

Hi! Your pictures are always so lovely, I love both the outfits and photo composition <3 Would it be okay with you to use them as references (mainly for the pose and lighting) for drawing practice or illustrations? (Not for commissions)

Wish you a great day!

As long as you credit me/the picture you use as reference, and you don't draw me in themes or positions I am against, I am totally fine with artists using my pictures as reference. I also like to see the final results.

Today is my 37th birthday, so I decided to do a compilation of the outfits I wore on my birthday from 2011 to 2024 (I got on Tumblr in November 2010, so I don't have that year on here). Full posts here: 2024 - 2023 2022 - 2021 - 2020 2019 - 2018 - 2017 2016 - 2015 - 2014 2013- 2012 - 2011

Hello! I was wondering, do you manage to wear all your main pieces every year? I was going through my wardrobe and realized I have quite a few dresses I didn’t wear at all last year/this year, but I still really love them and don’t want to sell them. How do you come up with enough occasions to dress up and leave the house? I work from home so I don’t get out of casual house clothes every day. (PS- I know your health hasn’t been the best lately so I don’t assume that you’re painting the town every night, more generally wondering how to get more wear out of a large wardrobe…)

I definitely do not wear all my pieces every year. I also work from home (but I force myself to go walk outside almost every day). Some of my pieces are over-the-top, less comfortable or can just be worn in certain weather that don't happen often, which makes them harder to wear. That doesn't mean I don't love them.

But here is something important to remember: It does NOT matter if you don't wear certain pieces every year. There's this whole ~declutter~ way of thinking going on, mainly because of fast-fashion and overconsumption, that guilt trips people into getting rid of things they don't often use, but that only applies to things you do not particularly care about. Some people get into a certain style, buy a ton of things, get bored of it and do a whole wardrobe turnover. Some people buy whatever is on trend/popular at the moment, but they don't necessarily love it.

My wardrobe is big, not because I buy a lot in a year or because I do "hauls", but because I've kept a lot of pieces over the 20 years I have been into lolita fashion (and other styles). Each piece is attached to memories, stories and people. Yes, I've sold/donated clothes over those years, sometimes ending up regretting it, sometimes not, but except if I end up at absolute rock bottom, I'll keep my wardrobe. I see it more as a wearable and practical collection, which makes me less bothered by the fact that I don't wear EVERYTHING every year. Some people have collections that are much less useful and they don't care, so why would I?

Anyway, I could talk about that for a while, so instead I'll give you some ways to wear your clothes more. Any excuse is good to wear your nice clothes: going on a walk, to the grocery, to the library, etc.; just dressing up to take pictures at home; dressing up without doing a whole outfit with hair/makeup/accessories (that's always the part that requires more energy) and not taking any pictures; wearing your more comfy items just to sit at home; rewear outfits, etc. I document less than 10% of what I wear.

Outfit rundown: Top: vintage; Skirt: Innocent World (with low poof petticoat); Shoes: Queen Bee; Gloves: vintage; Bag: thrifted (it broke in the move, so that's the last time you'll see it); Brooches and star earrings: vintage; Milk bottle earring: Design Festa

La clématite violette

I managed to find a few minutes here and there in the midst of the move and work whirlwind to finally edit some pictures from June taken by my mother in her garden.

Dress: vintage (Laura Ashley); Purple top (we only see the collar): GU; Gloves: vintage; Hat: vintage; Shoes: old Clarks; Brooch: vintage; Bow: from another blouse

That day, I had very little time to plan an outfit, get dressed and take pictures, so enjoy this simple classic coord.

Skirt: second-hand Mary Magdalene; Blouse: second-hand Milk; Straw hat: second-hand Baby, the Stars Shine Bright; Shoes: old Cobb Hill; Parasol: old Alice and the Pirates; Petticoat: Wunderwelt (gift); Gloves: second-hand Victorian Maiden; Lily of the Valley corsage: Pauline Rose; Crest brooch: thrifted

On June 1st, it was 6°C, which explains the million layers.

Outfit rundown

Trench coat: Old Axes Femme; Thick knit cardigan: old Axes Femme; Long sleeved dress: second-hand Innocent World; Thermal top: Heattech; Wool tights: Mondor; Boots: Sperry Topsider; Bag: second-hand Jean Paul Gaultier; Headbow: Baroque; Doll head brooch: Fuwari; Mushrooms brooch: Pepfox; Bat bow: Moth and Fae

Cœur sanglant et fumée apocalyptique

Outfit rundown - Jacket: vintage; Skirt (and tie, which actually goes on the skirt): second-hand Jane Marple; Turtleneck and tights: Heattech by Uniqlo; Bag: second-hand Jean Paul Gaultier; Shoes: second-hand Yösuke; Belt: thrifted; Hat: thrifted; Broochs: Design Festa + gifts; Earrings: thrifted

I felt like Son de Flor linen dresses are usually coordinated in more feminine vintage or cottagecore styles, so I went down another path this time.

When Son de Flor contacted me to gift me another one of their amazing linen pieces, I decided to choose something more simple and versatile, expressly to wear it in very different ways. I have already worn it several times after those pictures, in more casual outfits (you might have seen them in my Instagram Stories).

Here's my Son de Flor affiliate link.

Dress: Son de Flor; Leather jacket: vintage; Bag: vintage medical; Shoes: Yösuke; Choker: Baroque; Black cat ring: Design Festa; All other jewelry: thrifted/vintage; Light petticoat: second-hand Atelier Pierrot

I love seeing how you wear items that you've owned for some time in fresh new ways and find really cool color combinations. Would you be open to making a seasonal capsule wardrobe tutorial?

Thanks! I tend to keep my clothes for a very long time, as most of them have history and sentimental value, but to avoid getting bored with them, I always try to create new looks.

However, with my full-time job, chronic illnesses and other responsibilities, I already barely have the time and energy to post my regular content, so a tutorial of any kind is just not possible. I might do Tumblr posts with compilations of outfits using the same pieces over the years (I sometimes do it in my Instagram Stories), if there's any interest for that. I already have all the material on here.

Cold May northern sun, Mother's Day brunch and abandoned 1936 hotel (extra pictures of the hotel on my Instagram post)

Hi! I honestly cannot answer this question because I do not know you at all. I have no idea what you like and dislike, what you can/cannot eat, if you have physical limitations, if you travel by foot/bike/public transport/car, etc. I could give general recommendations, but any site/guide can do that.

Also, I have been away from Montreal for almost 7 years, and am now living in a suburban/countryside area, so I only go to Montreal once in awhile. A lot of the businesses I frequented back in my downtown Montreal days (before 2016) are closed now.

The Montreal Botanical Garden's greenhouses finally opened again, after over a year of being closed for renovations, just in time for the indoor wisteria to bloom. Getting a bit a spring before real spring starts.

Dress: thrifted (no tag); Cardigan: second-hand Fint; Collar: second-hand Abilletage; Belt and bag: second-hand Axes Femme; Shoes: old Clarks; Cameo and earrings: thrifted; Crochet leaves: handmade by a local artisan; Wisteria-like flower hairpin: handmade by my cousin; Lilies of the valley hairpin: Pauline Rose; Mint roses: vintage; Petticoat: second-hand Atelier Pierrot

Outfit for houjicha (and matcha) fondue at @charyu_tguru with @vkeiprincesse

Dress: Blauer Vogel (Japanese indie brand); Blouse: second-hand Mary Magdalene; Hat: second-hand Fint (with added flowers); Shoes: old Queen Bee; Bag: offbrand from some shop in Harajuku in 2011; Book brooch: Design Festa (forgot the artist); Other brooches, earrings and ring: vintage
