Post-season five Hordak and Adora's relationship being good as Adora remembers how Hordak felt when he found her in the field when she was a baby and Hordak, having had the memory forcibly brought forward when Prime was ejected, having similar feelings so that they're on good terms. Catra and Hordak, not so much, and especially in the beginning it's a bit like the father-in-law who doesn't quite approve of their daughter's partner but puts up with them for the sake of their daughter and the partner being the same in her feelings. So lots of awkward and occasionally tense meetings. I also love the idea that Adora doesn't quite catch on at first because she's not exactly the most emotionally intelligent of the cast.

And that's a wrap for Outlaws of the Whispering Woods!
Please enjoy the epilogue of this fic that is dear to me as one of the original fics I drafted during my post-finale insanity in 2020.
Catradora and Glimbow Robin Hood AU now finished at 61,775 words
(FYI, I have temporarily set this as available to everyone for a few days to give people who only read finished fics a chance but then it will go back to private)
"Hello, Adora" will probably be forever my favorite Hey, Adora moment (really close behind is the void!Catra one) because it is just so fantastic. It's got the horror of this more proper greeting (hello instead of hey) that feeds into the conversion therapy motif, the look on Catra's face that is just... it's her but it's not her, it's that horror movie possession moment of a familiar voice saying, "They're not hear anymore," and of course Adora's horrified reaction. It's just angst, so much angst, and it's delicious.
Headcanon:
Adora starts keeping journals right after the war. She has both work journals, stuff she documented for her survey work, but she also has personal journals where she’s put down incredibly personal things and stuff that historians would go nuts over. She’s written in them almost daily. Finally after decades, they were taking up space in the attic until Catra finally convinced her to turn them over to Bright Moon for archiving. No one but Adora, or Catra in certain cases, can access them until at least twenty years after her death.
HALFMOON AU 🧡 The Nyx’aluna 🧡
When two of Halfmoon’s twelve moons align, the sky turns violet-blue and the Magicats gather to celebrate Nyx’aluna, the Night of Living Light. It is the moment when spirits cross the veil and dance among their kin.
Queen Catra, G’ali, Kedi-si, Oola, Ursa, and Banu paint their bodies with pigments made from moonflowers and luminous fungi. Light slides over their skin like water. In the clearing, they play with small violet pumpkins called Lunagrins, carved with smiling faces that glow from within. When touched, they float softly and leave trails of light that fade into the air.
That night, among them stands Adora, bearer of She-Ra’s power. Her presence shifts the forest’s pulse; it seems to recognize her before the Magicats do. Catra marks her with the symbols of the ritual, and the light answers. The Lunagrins shine brighter, the moons quiver in the sky, and the forest itself recognizes Adora as one of its own, as if Halfmoon had always known her name.

I also think Hordak is one of the only people who can get away with calling Catra by her old Horde rank because of this and doesn't hesitate to do so when he wants to subtly irritate her. At which point Catra starts whipping out the Lord Hordak and eventually Adora has to intervene.
