The Rattman dens in both Portal games are so interesting to me from a lore perspective. Like yea Aperture just has this resident schizophrenic who goes completely batshit after running out of meds and becomes obsessed with this random test subject and starts drawing murals of her after reading on a terminal about how stubborn she is. Also you can hear him babbling incomprehensible nonsense to himself in one (1) room towards the end of P2 and its never elaborated on again and nobody can decide what hes actually saying more than a decade later

When you pick up a sword for the first time you will be slow and awkward. This is frustrating, but refuse the temptation to try and become a “faster” fencer. Chasing after speed is like trying to catch smoke. If you try and pursue speed, all you will accomplish is haste. Haste is the enemy of 1st class fencing.
Speed is a lie the untrained mind tells itself when it sees an action it cannot follow. The truth is a combination of timing, control, and fluidity. Fluid motion, even done slowly, will always arrive before a hasty strike. Control will allow you to move without wasteful motion that will slow you down. Timing will eliminate the need to move fast almost entirely. There is no need to get somewhere fast so long as you get there at the right time.

Listen i know its kinda a low blow to dunk on vivs worldbuilding, its a horse thats been beaten to death at this point, but can we all agree on some level that the worldbuilding done for zoophobia was kinda peak
Idk what it is, maybe i just have nostalgia goggles, but so much of the worldbuilding done for zoophobia and the world it took place in is so fucking interesting to me to this day
Like. I think what a lot of people dont realize about zoophobia is that if you only read the comic and didnt follow viv on her other platforms then so much of the worldbuilding wouldnt have been known to you, because at the point the comic got cancelled, it was only about halfway through book one. of ten
Viv had written 10 books worth of lore that had been sprinkled across her various socials and now only really exist in archives, which is a shame because a lot of it is pretty good
Safe haven as a setting is so much more than whats shown in the comic thats actually pretty competently made nostalgic YA fantasy worldbuilding. It has its own districts, it has its own cultures, it has a hollywood, a film and theatre scene, it has pop stars. Characters we saw in the comic have fully fleshed out families and relationships that we never got to see because of when the comic got cancelled, there were quite a few in the comic that had connections to the characters that would eventually evolve into the characters in hazbin
Like idk again maybe im just nostalgic because i was following viv before zp was even a comic and i remember reading the comic as it came out, but something abt that specific brand of YA fantasy worldbuilding picks at my brain in just the right way
