Star Wars Episode IV - A New Hope (1977) Dir. George Lucas
Everybody need New Year Bones. Let Santa will bring me a place in Starfleet, I just feel a little… fucked up
the more i watch star trek tos, the more it becomes abundantly clear that the reason why modern trek doesnt get kirk at all is because they dont utilise mccoy nearly as much anymore
in modern trek, they always present the idea of logic vs emotion, with spock being logic and kirk being emotion, but thats not how tos has it. in tos, the logic vs emption debate is spock vs mccoy. kirk is supposed to be the mediator between the two, sometimes siding with one side over the other, sometimes finding a middle ground between the two. thats why hes the captain, hes able to see all angles and pick the best course
when you make kirk the emotional one, it completely breaks the format, because 9 time out of 10, it means kirk has to be correct. theres no more balance
mccoy is just as important to tos as spock is, and while i do understand why spock is as popular as he is, without mccoy, the show doesnt work. you need them both. kirk spock and mccoy are the three leads of the show, and removing one requires you to change the others, which is whats happened to kirk

PLANETARY CLASSES.
starfleet uses single - letter names to classify the different types of planets explored by its starships. these classifications are based on factors such as mass, atmosphere, surface conditions, and the planet’s ability to support organic life.
CLASS - M PLANETS. are earth - like — rocky worlds with plant and animal life sustained by oxygen - nitrogen atmospheres. most life as we know it evolved on and inhabits class - m planets. besides earth, examples include vulcan, risa, and bajor.
CLASS - L PLANETS. have oxygen - argon atmospheres and plant life, but no native animals. humans can survive on these worlds for short periods of time.
CLASS - K PLANETS. can sustain microbial life, but are only inhabited by complex lifeforms that rely on life - support systems and pressure domes.
CLASS - H PLANETS. covers a range of desert worlds.
CLASS - J PLANETS. gas giants, such as jupiter and saturn.
CLASS - D PLANETS. moons or small planets with little or not atmosphere.
CLASS - Y PLANETS. used to denote worlds with harsh or toxic conditions, which are also nicknames ‘demon’ planets.

After a pause, McCoy straightened and said, "I have some more information for Mr. Spock."
Casting a quick, puzzled glance at his chief science officer, Kirk said, "I thought we transhipped a hold full of medical computers?"
McCoy muttered a response.
"How's that, Bones?" Jim Kirk was quite sure he had heard McCoy correctly—but baiting McCoy was a habit of long standing and seemed to restore a measure of normality even in such grotesque circumstances as these.
McCoy scowled. "I said," and this time he enunciated each word clearly, "I'd rather trust Spock."
At Spock's raised eyebrow, McCoy scowled again. Then, very rapidly, to change the subject, he said, "How's Sulu?"
