Fanfic Masterlist
A small masterlist of my fanfic posted on here. There are longer summaries in the individual posts.
The Unexpected Heiress (MC: Celeste Hayes)
- A Morning's Conversations: Celeste Hayes uses her first morning in Windcroft to ponder her sister's death and get to know her future husband and brother-in-law.
- Trust: John and Francis grapple with the revelations of the Whittenby ball.
- In Weakness or In Strenght: John and Celeste are finally married, and Francis and Gemma couldn't be happier. But that doesn't keep them from thinking about their own marriages - or the marriages that should have been, but weren't.
- The American Problem: In a deviation from actual canon, John doesn't simply let Celeste march off when she figures out their prime suspects's secrets during the Barrington house party.
- a stained-glass variation of the truth: John and Celeste think themselves safe after Lord and Lady Ashbourne agree to call of the engagement. They are wrong. Some in-between scenes for the beginning of Chapter 16.
- Be Grateful For Small Mercies: In January 1915, John has already been wounded in the Great War, but the injury has allowed him to be present for the birth of his and Celeste's first child. Now, two weeks after their daughter's birth and just after a medical board to determine whether John is fit to return to duty, they reflect on all they have lost and all they have to be thankful for.
- Home Front: Spring 1916, London. World War 1 has been raging for more than 18 months and Lieutenant John Somserset returns to London on home leave, never expecting to hear that his wife Celeste is not only in London, but that for all the propaganda of 'fighting to keep England safe' to make men enlist, the home front is far from untouchable.
