"Hey," you murmured groggily when you woke up to see your newly wed wife, Caitlyn, already staring at you, wide awake.
"Hi," she sounded a little breathless.
You swallowed, blush already creeping up your cheeks.
"You been awake a while?"
Caitlyn debated whether she should lie or not. She decided to come clean and nodded, "you look very cute when you sleep so deep."
You blushed harder, and considered turning on your other side and going back to sleep. Something made you remain— eyes locked with hers.
"You were good last night."
"I thought I was a little too rough." Caitlyn said truthfully, "I didn't mean to be."
You smiled, tired but there, "I didn't hate it. It was just... New. I liked it actually now that I think about it."
Caitlyn's worries eased a little.
"Are you sure? Did I overdo?" She shifted closer, "you can tell me the truth."
You took her hands in yours, "you did fine, Cait. I'm really proud of you."
Caitlyn smiled at you— full, content, "I'm proud of us for coming this far together."
Sleep tugged at you again, your eyes closed before you knew it and you mumbled, "we can get sappy later, right?"
It made Caitlyn laugh.
She pulled you into her chest. "Mhm. Emotions and all that can wait. Just sleep now, babe. I'll be right here."
Your arms remained secured and locked around her body as she played idly with your hair, stroking it gently and it successfully lulled you back to sleep.

One of the things you’d given her when you’d first confessed to her was a big bouquet of fresh flowers. She was shocked— this specific kind wasn’t sold anywhere near where you both lived. She looked up, smile never fading from her lips, “but how?”
And you smiled back, wide and content, “I grow them in my garden.”
“Oh, you’ve gotta show me,” Caitlyn’s voice was genuinely excited so you promised to show her one day.
One day was today— Caitlyn had just finished her work for the day and she was on her way back when she decided to stop by your apartment. You were so glad to see her.
“I missed you!” You hugged her tightly.
Caitlyn laughed, her voice soft and a little tired as her arms came up around you— in a hug. You both stayed like that for a while and you took a deep breath.

loves spending hundreds and thousands of dollars on you. being a kiramman came with its downsides, but it also came with wealth which she never hesitates to spend on you.
she doesn't really use pet names that often, but every now and then she'll whisper a soft "love," accent thick, and your knees almost give out.
I feel like you guys would have met through a shared hobby like hunting, releasing suspicious redheads from prison, or investigating crime. if it was hunting she definitely always challenged you, almost always lost, and then the one time she didn't bragged about it for literal years.
likes cooking ionian dishes for you. they were staples when she was growing up because of her dad, and she likes seeing your reactions to them—good or bad—just excited that she gets to share a part of herself with you.
overall, despite being a "cupcake" herself you're what has her whipped.

you don’t not even a little.
you’re curled up on the couch, chin in your palm, watching the way her brows knit together when she’s frustrated. the way her mouth moves too fast for her brain sometimes, goshh that british accent.
“—and if that’s true, then the entry point couldn’t have been the west wing,” she says, stopping suddenly, turning to you. “right?”
you blink.
“…yeah,” you say, confidently. lovingly wrong.
she stares at you for half a second, then sighs, rubbing her face. “WRONG! you didn’t understand a word i just said, did you, darling?”
you smile dumbly, “nope.”
something in her softens, her shoulders drop. she walks over and sits beside you, close enough that her knee presses into your thigh.
“then why were you nodding.”
“because you look really pretty when you’re explaining things,” you say. “and i like when you’re passionate about stuff. i love it when you yap, baby.”
she scoffs, but ohhh she’s smiling and blushing.
“i’m not yapping.”
“you totally are.”
she leans back against the couch, head tipping toward your shoulder. you don’t know anything about the case, you never will.
she starts talking again against your shoulder, slower this time. still complicated, still nonsense. you listen anyway.
