Ship: Clark Kent/Lex Luthor

Summary/Excerpt:

Rick Flag Sr. dropped a folder on the table with bureaucratic resignation. “The A.R.G.U.S. Strategic Oversight Directive for the Containment and Rehabilitation of Enhanced Nationals,” he announced. “That’s its official designation, and I expect you to use it.”

Hal stared. “Catchy.”

Barry raised a hand. “Pretty sure your people on the observation deck are calling it The Luthor Project.”

“No one calls it that,” Flag snapped. “And if they do, they’ll be filling out triple the paperwork.”

“What’s the directive, General?” Diana asked.

“Simple,” Flag said. “Luthor needs oversight. A.R.G.U.S. decided it should come from one of you.”

Hal smirked. “You mean us—the League?”

Flag shook his head. “No. I mean him.”

Every head turned toward Superman.

It’s so fucking funny that Smallville was like Lex and Clark should have lots of devastating background lore for Why They’re Like That Now, but Superman 2025’s Lex literally just saw that man and went bonkers crazy instantly. They haven’t even SPOKEN before the film and he CLONES HIM FROM STRAY DNA. It hasn’t occurred to him at all that Supes even has a secret identity, he just saw David Corenswet’s dimples and went what if we were nemesis’s. I think I’ll orchestrate a war to talk to him. He’s studied his fighting technique so hard he can choreograph it, and FOR WHAT. girl ask that man for a coffee Jesus fucking Christ. 2025 Lex I love you there is something unfathomably wrong with you

Maybe it’s just me being a shameless Halbarry shipper but I firmly believe if Barry Allen had lived Hal would have never become Parrallax. Or if he had he would have been able to break free of its influence way sooner.

If Barry’s death could flip the 𝘗𝘢𝘳𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘢𝘹 switch in JLA VS Avengers, then surely his survival could keep Hal from losing it

Hal: Barry’s dead, so I’m going to kill the entire Green Lantern Corps and anyone who gets in my way while I reset the Universe.

Everyone: WHY?!

Parallax!Hal: He’s pretty much 85% of my impulse control.
