you can call me Hawk, cuz i like hawks. inaturalist power user, curator, and top accipitriformes identifier. feel free to tag me in or send me raptors for ID. or send me cool bugs. i always want to see a cool bug

So there's this currently undescribed Globular Springtail(genus Katianna specifically) species that I regularly photograph that's been informally classified by springtail identifiers on iNaturalist and it's important to me that you all know that they've apparently nicknamed it "mountain dew"

So I don't usually bother posting the pictures I take of really little inverts, because they aren't all that good and are cropped enough that the resolution is horrid.

I'm making an exception for this guy because he looks very polite

Hypogastrurid Springtails(Family Hypogastruridae)

Mothing sheet highlight: this guy! Recently had the joy to contribute an iNaturalist first, meaning the very first observation of this species on iNaturalist worldwide was by me. There are now 10 observations of it, because I proceeded to post 9 more, these guys seem to love my sheet. Not my first worldwide first, but the first one I've had actually local to me. I've typed first so many times it doesn't look like a real word anymore

Zyginama dentata
