I wrote my first ever song (after trying for years) and It's a huge deal to me
What on /earth/ possesed me to write this in such a high key, given my voice, I'll never know- the song demanded it I guess
I am /bad/ at music in the sense that it has NEVER come naturally to me, so imagine my utter shock last night when I wrote and composed my FIRST ever actual song?? something I try about once a year but never make it very far at all
This song is about the struggle as an artist in the current climate of social media and in general with more traditional routes- it's always been an uphill fight to make any kind of name for yourself unless you catch the one in a million chance
We have more ways than ever to put our work out there, but it can be like spitting in a river, and the dance you have to do to keep up and make any kind of dent is unattainable for (i'd wager) 99% of people. Art is made to be /shared/ and plucking away for years with little to no engagement just makes the yearning for a connection so much worse
So, if you can ignore that I am very much not an alto anymore after 3 years of T- please enjoy
