This is an exciting bit of news I’ve been sitting on for about a month, but I had to wait until after I gave my interview and got my official page before I could share it! I started a new Minecraft world and I don't know if all arctic biomes are like this or what but it is LOUSY with Endermen. I caught 4 in this screenshot but there were actually 8 or 9 of them zipping around. They are obsessed with putting dirt on this icy field.

While Crimbo shopping I stumbled upon a 90s recipe book for "Loveable Character Cakes" and was intrigued as to what characters count as loveable.

The dates added up, but I still wasn't expecting to see G2 ponies inside. They don't tend to get a lot of love.

Then there was a Sonic cake. I thought it was going to be shaped like his head, or maybe have a Green Hill Zone theme, so I was surprised it went all out on Blue Spheres

My number one piece of advice for creating a Daggerfall character is:

  • choose the "make custom class" option
  • choose the "3x the usual amount of mana" option
  • get skill points in Mysticism to make the Recall spell cheaper to cast
  • buy the Recall spell AS SOON AS POSSIBLE

The dungeons are so big. Unbelievably huge. You will get so many quests asking you to trawl through these twisting labyrinths to find one little ingredient, and the quest IS ON A TIMER.

I always anchor the Recall spell at the entrance of the dungeon (but INSIDE IT, if you set it outside then the dungeon enemies will reset every time) so I can bounce back there whenever I get lost.

Time for my annual install of TES Daggerfall!

So in Daggerfall you can create your own custom class with its own custom strengths and weaknesses. The bigger the weakness you pick, the more points you get to put into strengths like having extra mana etc. High Elves are naturally immune to poison, so you can pick them as your starter race and then pick "Critical Weakness to Poison" for the custom character class to get loads of free points.

Dark Elves and Argonians (lizard people) are on the list because they just look cool.

if you are wondering why Khajits aren't an option it's because they don't actually look cat-like in Daggerfall so what's the point
