it never sits well with me when people associate beauty with morality like i remember when i was in my early 20s and my friends would compliment each other like “that’s what happens when you’re not racist—you get a banging body” or “you can tell she’s homophobic because of her ugly mug” like it’s never felt right to me. beauty as a reward or a virtue feels so bizarre to me. ugliness as a punishment feels so bizarre to me. it all feels like 19th century phrenology and physiognomy

This whole 'poor little egg, I will save you and tell you you can be a girl' thing makes a lot of sense when you understand that they view being trans as something you are instead of something you do

I used to have a lot of phone sex clients who used me basically to try and work through gender stuff. They always ask "do you think I am trans?" I would always tell them I think it's the wrong question to be asking. Unfortunately, there is no 'me' save for the one that I choose to create. There isn't some singular truth at the bottom of our souls. I am trans only because I have done and continue to do the things that make me trans. And the question that person should be asking isn't "am I that thing" it's "am I likely to be happier if I did those things?" Because unfortunately, no one is going to live our lives for us--no one even can. And there is no certain self except the one we choose to make. So which one are we gonna make?

i love when i see a headcanon for a character that can absolutely in no way be linked to the source material unless you take the extremely specific path the writer has taken within their mind. it’s beautiful
