i'm the hot girl

me, married for not even two months: idk all of a sudden I think that pining after someone with no end in sight just doesn’t sound that romantic. weird

me, happily ensconced in the security of my wedding vows: you guys I just had the wildest epiphany! what if love wasn’t a dream in your head, but instead a mutual partnership? like, what if it was requited??? crazy to say, but I think that would be better

Sometimes I’m talking to a child like hey I’m not mad. I’m not even disappointed really. Your classmates however are going to beat you with sticks if we don’t do something about this.

Listen I know you like clicking the pen. I even have clicked a pen myself once or twice. However.

Tim: there is something I need to tell, B
Bruce: okay..
Tim: I don't know how to say this
Bruce, fully expecting that tim is coming out the closet: There is no rush.
Tim: promise that you won't be mad
Bruce: of course not
Tim: ... I don't have a spleen...
Bruce: I will support -wait what?
Bruce: the hell you mean you don't have a spleen
Tim: you promised that you would not be mad

when applied to drinks, "dry" means "without sugar". therefore it follows that sugary drinks can be called "wet". the meanings of the terms "hot" and "cold" when applied to drinks are obvious. thus the aspect of any drink can be determined.

for instance, green tea, freshly steeped and served without additives, is hot and dry, and therefore has an aspect of fire.

a mocha, on the other hand, while hot, is sweet, and therefore wet, and thus has an an aspect of air.

lemonade, which is wet and cold, has a water aspect.

finally, the drink which most epitomizes the earth aspect, being both cold and dry, is vodka

green tea = yellow bile

mocha = blood

lemonade = phlegm

vodka = black bile

Taylor Swift (2006) is such a weird little time capsule because it was written before overprotectiveness took over, when parents were still letting their teens and tweens be out and about doing shit IRL. she’s in a chevy truck that had a tendency of getting stuck on back roads at night. she’s underneath the stars in the field behind your yard listening to the crickets sing. she’s slamming the screen door sneaking out late tapping on your window. she’s decidedly not in her bedroom crashing out about something she saw on social media.

one of the notes i jotted down while in Israel was:

The church was born in the temples of Galilee

which is as close to a direct quote from one of the priests in Magdala as I can remember, but I also have not been able to stop thinking about it since

In the writings of the Church Fathers, a lack of feeling —insensitivity toward the suffering of others— is considered typical of paganism. In contrast to this attitude, the Christian faith holds up the God who suffers with men, and thereby draws us into his “com-passion.” The Mater Dolorosa, the mother whose heart is pierced by a sword, is an iconic image of this fundamental attitude of Christian faith.
