If you’re ever considering suicide, please, I am begging you, don’t do it. Things may not be alright now, but they will be, eventually. You will be alright at some point. It may not be today, tomorrow, next week, next month, it may not even be in a year from now. But, believe me when I say, at one point, it WILL get better. You WILL be alright. And, you DO deserve to live. If you ever need to vent to me, anon is always on and I will do my best to help. I’m always here for you. 💖

I haven’t seen people talk much about this scene regarding protective Nick, because that’s basically him the whole movie but I do want to bring more attention to this one specific instance of that:

The desperation in his voice and his EXPRESSIONS!! He’s fucking terrified of not getting there in time to save Judy from her inevitable fate when the cops catch up to her.

Nick puts emphasis on ‘they’re gonna put her to SLEEP!!’ to let Clawhauser know what is really at stake here if Nick doesn’t get Judy’s location.

It is PARAMOUNT that he gets to her before it’s too late.

Requested by anonymous! Here you go! ♥ Out of context, this sounds so much more like relationship advice rather than a professional partnership. Even Nibbles later refers to Nick & Judy's issues as "trouble in paradise". They're mistaken for a couple throughout the film several times by other characters, & neither of them even bother to attempt to deny it.

ZOOTOPIA 2 (2025): << Click here for more! "Clever fox."

Requested by anonymous! Here you go! ♥ Nick was so smooth here with the way he grabbed Judy's dress & then when he offered her his arm. The way he puffs out his chest at her praise & then seems offended when she doesn't laugh at his joke (A joke she does laugh at coming from Pawbert, which clearly makes Nick jealous). He's really not subtle at all. Unfortunately for him, Judy couldn't be any more oblivious. 😂

I saw people say that they don't fault Nick for trying to take it easy, as it's his default setting, and not working so darn hard like Judy

And while that's probably partly true, the 'not taking it too far part', I don't agree w the 'taking it easy' part

All of Nick's reasons for disagreeing w Judy had been self-preservation. He's been trying to keep them both alive and well. And together. In his own way.

He's been trying to avoid getting into trouble because that is the way little old fox w bad rep can get what he wants in his new cop life = stay out of trouble = be with Judy

It's how little juvenile kids think when they decide to be on the right side of the law; just stay out of trouble and you'll be fine

While Judy had always been on the righteous side, she's also learned to bend the rules. It's not the same as a crook bending the law, because when a lawful person does it, they're still doing it within the boundaries of what she thinks is acceptable, and she knows it. Even if it's not always right

Meanwhile Nick has learned the hard way that being a fox will always grant him suspicion for even existing, that even being a police officer is miracle itself, and yes he wants to keep that; not being the cop part probably, but doing the right things w Judy

Chief Bogo's 'recommendation' that they'll go to couple therapy, yeah, he'll take it. Suspension, yeah he'll take it too, as long as it doesn't piss off the authority so she and Nick will be out of trouble

Not getting found out by Bogo at the ball, yes ofc, he doesn't want that. He and Judy were supposed to be suspended

Getting out of town according to Mr. Big's plan, yh he'll definitely choose that too so both of them can be safe and out of sight of the other police officers

Not getting killed in the pipe? Yes, he's basically the only responsible person in this scenario

Finding out that the other cops were hot on their trail and telling Judy they have to leave, well duhh

It's just a series of situations where he just wants to stay out of trouble, and not die, in his own way

Judy wants to solve the case so they can prove to the others they belong together. Nick wants to stay out of trouble. With the exact same intent.

Sure, that can also translate to 'he's just trying to take it easy' but i don't think that's the Whole thing with Nick Wilde

nick knows he’s in love with judy but he also thinks she has no idea and doesn’t reciprocate which you can’t blame him for because she has such a one-track mind and is so driven towards Saving The World™ and Making It A Better Place™. so when people mistake them as a couple (as opposed to them pretending to be a couple for official super necessary work reasons) or treat them as a couple or talk to them like they’re a couple—it can really grind his gears. it reminds him of everything he can’t have, practically taunts him for his pathetic feelings she doesn’t share, and it can make him really grumpy and petulant. it’s reserved enough, but she looks at him in those moments, sees that discomfort and thinks it means discomfort. with the concept of them… together. whereas she doesn’t mind the idea much. at the same time, why is there this dissonance to it? does she see that for every look of irritation she spots, there’s a longing gaze he directs at her? a lingering stare she can’t quite shake? or even, the looks of possession that burn into her skin, when he’s behind her back, seething in a jealousy he doesn’t think he deserves to feel?

ZOOTOPIA 2 (2025): << Click here for more! "A dirt bag fox & a dumb bunny will never stand in my way." "She's not a dumb bunny, & you're forgetting one thing." "What's that?" "We're friends with a snake."

Requested by anonymous! Here you go! ♥ Can we just talk about how Nick, who expressed an aversion towards reptiles at the beginning of the film, already views Gary as his friend after only just meeting him? He had no idea who Gary was or what his end goal was, but what he does know is that if it hadn't been for Gary, both he & Judy would probably be dead. So what's the first thing he does after learning who Gary is? It's not seen in this clip, but he immediately snags a scarf for his new friend, knowing he's far less tolerant of the cold than they are, & is completely unbothered by their close proximity! It's such a sweet little detail that tells us how much Nick has grown over the course of the film!
