About Me, Fan-artist Edition🎨🖌️

I've seen plenty of these question / summary memes floating around for fanfic, but literally zero for fanart. So I put this together these questions for the few artists in this fandom.

Since artists don’t really have the equivalent of Ao3, most of these questions are scoped to Tumblr. However if you’d like to pick a different platform, or reference multiple platforms, feel free! Also, feel free to generalize from fanart -> art if you wish. And skip any questions you don't want to answer.

  1. How many fanarts have you posted in total? You can estimate if you don't want to count. About 35-ish, and the urge to delete some of the old cringe ones gets stronger everyday
  2. What fandoms have you made art for? Well this is an ACOTAR sideblog, but I used to post art of anything and everything I liked. Its all been deleted. Maybe one day I'll multifandomize this blog
  3. What are your favorite subjects / characters / ships to draw? I like drawing character dynamics and how complicated they can get. I'm a bit tenuous on shipping. I think romance is a very strong narrative tool and can sometimes overshadow nuanced relationships. I don't like drawing illyrians, the wings annoy me, and somehow I seem to draw them more than anything
  4. What medium, programs, tools, etc. do you use? I use Procreate and switch brushes every now and then
  5. What's your favorite part of your art process? Blocking colours. I always have such a hard time sketching, and I've never liked rendering
  6. What's your most popular fanart, by engagement? Are you surprised? It's the one with the Archeron sisters and their child versions, by a lot. And I am, especially by all the thoughts and theories people had about it
  7. Personal favorite fanart you’ve made? I was very happy with one I made of Tamlin and his brothers riding home and crossing paths with Rhysand, Azriel and Cass flying home, but lately I like the azrhys drawings best
  8. Fanart you wish you did better on / wish you could redo? All of them, immediately after posting
  9. Do you draw NSFT? If so, what kinds of NSFT scenarios / tropes do you like to draw? Sometimes. Mostly silly ones
  10. Do you have any fandom OCs that you’ve drawn / would like to draw? I have a couple of OCs, not counting the unnamed Vanserra brothers, maybe one day they'll pop their head out
  11. Can you share any part of a WIP you’ve abandoned? I abandoned a 'Mor through the ages' WIP, and I don't think I'll get back to it. Here she is as a baby:
  1. What would you say are your artistic strengths and weaknesses? I'd say I have pretty solid and consistent character design and a catastrophical inability to draw any kind of background

i think its important to remember that the rhysand WE see and know is nawt the ''''real''' rhysand as in the person he has been for the past 500+ years. and i'm not talking about the political facade or the court of nightmares stuff im talking about whoever rhysand was before he spent 50 YEARS under the mountain lying and scheming to survive

like the way eye see it. pre-utm rhysand was probably a lot more careless and arrogant, since he was used to being the undefeated strongest, and a lot less high-lord ish. which is Why the IC is surprised when he pulls rank and lies to them post-utm. bc it must not have been something he did back then. sorry thinking

you're very real for the acotar hater bit. you need to look at it from the corner of your eyes with your ears covered because the books just don't have a plot made to be analyzed or even thought on for more than 2 sec max. and yet critical structures CAN be applied to it which is how you get good stuff. but its mostly in a realm of hallucination

I think the azrhys dynamic is v interesting especially considering how simultaneously aware and unaware rhys is of the precariousness of his inner circle (asking feyre not to pay matchmaker vs prohibiting azriel from seeing elain). imo I don't think he's entirely blind to the house of cards of it all I just think it's a bit low on his priority list. I also think the immortality of it all has a big hand in aiding and abeting these behaviours since it establishes very permanent structures that are not easy to shake. one of the many drives for change being the passing of time. for immortals like them time doesn't really......pass. like you may be Meaning to fix your fucked up relationship with your brother and the doomed dynamic your father left behind.... and then you get busy and its been two centuries lol

#i mean rhys is a really smart guy so he obviously Noticed. i don't think he enjoys the dynamic and imo he let go from the childhood jealousy#its like how he makes his citizens call him rhysand. he doesnt like that hierachy stuff. sorta#buttttttt it muct be said that its a system that 100% benefits him. and hes real pragmatic#like the night court would nawttt function as is without azriel. so its in rhys s best interest to not give him the choice to leave#but obviously thats evil asf and rhys actually DOES care about his brother its just.....low on the priority list lol#anyway much to b said much to b thought#ty very much anon#asks

SOMEONE GET THE LINT ROLLERS. Here’s some dog!Tam for @highlordofkrypton. There's a Tamcien add-on to this, but I'm withholding it since we're at WAR.

This is mostly crack, but imagine if Tam used to visit Rhys in the form of animals in order to avoid political scrutiny. "Dog" was a favorite of his due to how innocuous he looked next to Rhys, but it has its downsides (fur everywhere). Also, he gets heavier every year but won't stop using Rhys as a chair.
